Please help identify this childhood book. I'm 90% sure it was english, otherwise it could have been written in spanish. The book was wider than tall, probably 15" by 10", very colourful but dark and weird at the same time. The only page i remember is one where s the main character is walking through a cave or forest and all these very interesting animals/creatures looking at him. (I think there's also page with just eyes surrounding him in the dark). The creatures are oddly drawn and very interesting and it was scary if anything. I believe this was a hand-me-down but eitherway I had it late 80's early 90's. I know the details are vague but i'm just hoping someone out there can bring me to peace. Thankyou

I'm strugging to come to terms with the fact that I've read such a seemingly extraordinary number of books yet seem to remember so very little. The obvious answer is to apply oneself more rigidly, in future, to study; to take notes and review them, etc. However, I really don't feel like writing extensive plot summaries every time I read a book, neither does this help me deal with the very distressing realisation that I don't know as much as I should do. How much memory can my computer hold? My computer specs: Dell XPS 600 OS: WinXP Professional 5.1 SP2 (Build #2600) CPU: Intel Pentium D , 2.99 GHz, 1024KB Video: NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX (1920x1200x32bpp 60Hz) I went on crucial.com and their scanner said my computer can have up to 8 gigs of memory but a friend of mine told me that XP can actually only hold 3 gigs of ram. How true is this? I currently have 2 gigs of ram and I was looking to go as high as 5 mainly because I work with After Effects a lot and rendering is a pain in the ass. Thanks in advance everyone.

Is Firefox churning my Powerbook? When I have more than a few tabs open, I hear (and see- on my little menubar app) heavy hard drive activity. It feels like it gets stuck in some kind of endless swap and the performance of the machine seems to suffer. More importantly, the noise drives me nuts. I suspect Firefox memory management issues. Whenever I think of a person out of the past (I'm 67, and have an excellent recall of schoolmates and even casual acquaintances from the distant past) a mental thumbnail photograph of that person always pops into my thoughts. Accurate in every way. I find almost no names in memory without full face photographs, probably thousands of them. My question, is this a rare ability or is it common?

Why is my laptop limited to 2Gb total memory, according to the specs? It has 2 PC2-5300 DDR2 memory slots, and the manufacturer sells a 2Gb card for it (in addition to 1Gb cards). Maybe a dumb question, but why can't it take two 2Gb cards? It's a Toshiba Satellite L45-S7423.
