Should I Apply For Training Jobs If I Have Panic Attacks When I Train?

One of the primary roles in my last job was training. At some point I started having panic attacks when I began my training sessions, which was a cause of real distress in the moment, but also longer term as I was now worried about my ability to do my job. Now that my company has closed down, I'm looking for a new job, and I've become aware that I'm subtly discounting opportunities which involve training out of fears related to panic attacks. I really don't think I can afford to overlook these positions in the current job market, but my brain keeps imagining turning up at a new job and having a panic attack in front of a whole new group of people, and naturally things grind to a halt from there. Any thoughts, advice or previous experience would be most welcome; comprehensive history inside. [more inside]

How to sell leftover fertility medication

I have one unused 1200ml box of Menopur (unmixed, kept in fridge). It can be quite expensive and I would like to sell at a discount to someone else who needs it. How can I do this safely, for both parties? This is in the UK.

Is this particular situation a good time to use my Ativan prescription?

I have an Ativan prescription that is intended to help me deal with panic attacks. I rarely use it because my panic attacks are quite rare. I have a work event coming that turns me into a ball of anxiety every time I have to do it (2-3 times a year) and I'm wondering if this might be an appropriate time to make use of my prescription. Do I need medication?

I was diagnosed with depression in 2012, after a really bad few months of daily crying and suicideal ideation. After several months of therapy, plus positive situational changes over the past couple of years, I am now pretty far away from those dark days. But I still get occasional episodes of inexplicable low mood when I, for example, cancel all commitments for the day and stay home in bed all day. What gives? Should I go back to therapy and/or go ask my doctor for medication and/or accept this as a dimension of who I am and manage around it? The moods feel physiological in origin, I can't put my finger on any thought or event that triggers them, and they happen about once every 2-3 months.

Should a hypochondriac take SSRIs?

How can I both cure my depression and get my sex drive back?

I used to like all kinds of funky sex. Since depression came into my life a few years ago, I've been far, far less sexual. In the last few months, I can't even find the will to masturbate let alone allow my beloved to penetrate me or otherwise enjoy sexual activity with me. I don't want to be depressed anymore, and I also want to get back to embodying the sexual being I used to be. How? [more inside]

Should I break up with my gf while I work on resolving my addiction?

I started dating my girlfriend six months ago. Since that time, I have gradually taken more of my stimulant medication than prescribed. I have told her on multiple occasions about the overuse of my stimulant medication and that recently it had gotten worse. Earlier tonight she told me that she is starting to distance herself from me and that she needs some extra space to protect herself [from being around someone with addictive behavior]. Her brother had a drug problem and she understands how emotionally draining it can be to have an addict in her life. What is the mature thing to do in this situation? Do I wait for her to potentially break up with me? Do I ask her for a break while I work on things? Do I just want to ask for a break to save myself from the pain of her breaking up with me first? I love her and I want her to be a part of my life but I don't want her to be consumed by my addiction while I get help. Please help.

Drugs make my bipolar mom a shell of herself. She says it's worth it.

Extremely medicated mom: My mom has struggled with intense bipolar disorder for most of her life. She attempted suicide twice and has been hospitalized 3 times. For the past 3 years or so, medication has stabilized her moods, but at what appears to me to be a heavy cost. She's dulled and flattened to the point that she seems like only a small fraction of the person she was. It's hard for me to see her this way, but I don't know what I can do. [more inside]
