Can/should we use trip insurance as our primary medical insurance?

In 6 weeks' time, my husband and I are quitting our jobs to go on a 2-3 month road trip around the USA before moving to Europe. I have some questions about travel/trip/health insurance for folks who may have done this or something similar. Is it sensible or possible to use travel insurance as our primary health insurance? Pitting Medela against Medela in the breast pump faceoff

OK, similar questions have been asked here but I'm looking for a very specific answer. My insurance covers two kinds of Medela breast pumps (which friends tell me are the best): The Pump In Style Advanced (at a cost to me of $89), and the Freestyle ($159). It also covers the Medela Advanced Personal Double Breast Pump, about which I know nothing including the cost to me. I've read mixed things about the two pumps: That the Freestyle is great, or that people have experienced reduced flow after using it; and that the Pump in Style is great, but that it's very inconvenient. If you're among the lucky ladies who've had personal experience with these pumps, can you tell me what you think? This is our first kid and I think I'd really benefit from your advice. Thanks!

Seeking resources, information or statistics regarding medical devices

I'm looking for resources regarding certain types of medical devices, ones that produce some sort of measurement or data, eg a Visual Field Analyzer, Ultrasound or an OCT machine. The type of data I'm looking for is stuff like sales numbers, how many are still currently in use, or where they're in use (which field, small clinics versus large hospitals, US or international). My focus is on legacy devices and Ophthalmology, but any data is useful.

Can I contest a medical bill that's due tomorrow?

I had surgery in October of 2010, paid all of the expenses past insurance, etc., and haven't heard from the hospital in 2 years. I've since moved, and received a bill yesterday for $138 that is "leftover from my surgery." The bill is dated February 13, but since the mail was forwarded, I just received it yesterday. I have no idea a) why I'm receiving this bill now or b) what it's actually for, and my contact with the hospital has yielded absolutely nothing. The charges it lists are nearly identical to those that are on the bills I (thankfully) saved post-surgery. I've called their billing department a couple of times, to no avail. The gist of the conversations: "It's for the surgery. Pay it." What are my options?

Looking for a website/blog about bad gyno experiences.

I recall being directed to a site/blog which had short anecdotes, submitted by users, about bad experiences with gynos/doctors/nurses, often focussing on hospitals/childbirth etc. A similar interface to fmylife.com On a specific day of the week they showcased the opposite, good experiences and health professionals who went out of their way to provide care. Does anyone know which site this is? I think I may have even found it through AskMeFi, but a search turned up nothing. Thanks.
