Why Does Wellbutrin Cause Weight Loss?

Why does Wellbutrin cause weight loss? Even my doctor doesn't seem to know for sure. Are there unproven medical hypotheses or studies amongst doctors or pharmacists or anyone else that lean towards an as-yet-unofficial answer? (Feel free to get technical. If I don't understand, I'll Google.)

A minor fender bender. Will it ruin our lives?

About a month ago, my pregnant wife and I were in a minor fender bender on Rt. 202 in NJ. The woman before us stopped short, and we hit her going about 20 mph. This wasn't our fault. Their wa sa police car who made an erratic turn at the merge of the road that cause a few cars in front of us to swerve and or strop short at the time. The mini-van had a minor scratch and bump. Our jeep had no damage..... I don't know the full details of the law, but NJ law seems to say that the person who hits from behind is automatically at fault. Period. [more inside]

What happens when your eyes have poorly trained editors

Jump-Cut Vision Filter: Sometimes, for no reason, I'll see a jump cut. Literally. My frame of vision will jump to the left by certain degree. I will not be moving my eyes or turning my head. But, out of nowhere, the entire field of view will move, slightly, to the left or right in a jarring fashion. Like a jump cut. So...is this a tumor or something?

Lizards in Medical Illustrations

I am doing some research for a paper and have been looking at old medical illustrations. In many of these they have drawn a lizard, and sometimes a fish suspended from the ceiling by a cord. They are hanging from their neck as well as their tail so that they are hanging the way they would look if they were on land ( or in the water). Why did they draw these? Were they an everyday decoration in those times? Did they signify something medical?

What's My Illness? Testing the Hivemind.

Yes, I'm seeing a doctor in about 1 hour. But I wanted to test out the hive mind. I always wanted to do this. A few times a day, my eyes have trouble correctly aiming at things. Is Bactrim a “heavy duty” or “light duty” antibiotic? Skinny inside.

I had a boil on my neck and went to see a Nurse Practitioner who prescribed a two week two a day supply of Bactrim, which was filled as the generic version (MP85 stamped on pill -specific info on the bottle wore off). Fast forward two weeks, the original boil went down but I got another one in the meantime so I know its not working. I know that current thinking these days is to not prescribe uber-strong antibiotics as to not build up resistance to super-bugs… Did I get a starter antibiotic? Yes, Im planning on going back, I just am curious how ‘strong’ Bactrim is.. I know its not Cipro. Where is Bactrim on the pecking order of antibiotics?
