I've got a potential, medical malpractice law suit regarding a now deceased sibling who lived in Breckenridge, CO, but need to find a solid lawyer from where I reside in Portland, OR. Any suggestions?

Recently I sustained a permanent disability due to surgical negligence. Several malpractice firms are willing to take my case on contingency, and I am in the process of deciding which attorney to go with. In the meantime, I am continuing to receive care from the negligent surgeon. Obviously I need to end this relationship and find a new specialist. How do I make the transition?

I know…YANMD, YANML. My daughter was born with an odd head shape and no fontanel. At three months our GP set up an appointment with a paediatric specialist. His diagnosis was, “that's just the way she was positioned in utero.” He did not schedule a follow up.

6 months ago, I returned from Mexico to NYC with a bad case of Colitis, diagnosed down there.
My Gastro/Principal doctor here treated it w/ Prenizone as usual, (I've been hit by it before) and all seemed well.
But something was wrong. I was fatigued, lost my appetite, had headaches, odd spasms in my hands...and the symptoms seemed to get worse.
A few weeks after the end of the Prenizone treatment, I returned to him, complained of the above, and expressed bafflement.

Do you know of any reasonably credible sources that list the premiums and deductibles that hospitals/doctors (of any kind, but largely medical surgeons for intensive-care/emergency/surgical hospitals) pay for medical malpractice insurance? I'm researching figures for a malpractice reform idea.

Medical malpractice suits: What actually happens to an MD when they're sued? In terms of disciplinary actions against the MD, is there a difference between being found liable in civil court versus a settlement?
