I am looking for international news coverage (All forms welcome, but print media preferred) of anything negative about Times Square. Trying to find news articles which would discourage someone visiting the US from going to Times Square.
I have tried Google News and some basic internet searches, but of course it's hard to know what to even search for in other languages. I can get a budget for this, and I would love to hire someone to research it for me, but what kind of service do I search for? [more inside]

I have tried to get on the RSS bandwagon. Really I did.
But it's just too much drama for me.
I read The Morning News (www.tmn.org) everyday, and love that someone I trust chooses stories for me -- it's edited, focused, smart, and clean.
Does anyone have other aggregators (or curators?) that are similar? (I'm trying Atlantic Wire with limited joy.)

A year ago, I bought a new TV
with HDMI capability and hooked it up to my PC to work as a monitor (with a straight HDMI cable connection). IT. IS. AWESOME.
I just moved into a new place with more room and now want to connect my surround sound system (5 speakers) to this setup as well.
This is the receiver
I'm considering purchasing and from what I can tell, will do what I need.
Extra potentially pertinent info:
- PC has two HDMI ports (one on the video card)
- Nintendo Wii connected directly to TV via RCA cables
- BluRay player connected to TV via HDMI cable
I want my setup to allow me to use the surround sound at all times (when watching broadcast TV, when using the TV as the PC monitor, when using the BluRay player and when using the Wii (this is the least important)). I'm assuming the TV will connect to the receiver (via HDMI) and the PC will also connect to the receiver (via HDMI) and all other hook-ups will remain as-is.
Thanks in advance for any advice or tips on how to make this easy! This will be my dream setup so I'm excited to get it right.

I have two dream jobs: one is working as a producer at a small independent production company in NY, the other is being a casting director. I don't want to be some big hollywood producer, but I'd love to work at a smaller media company. Whenever I've managed to get a foot in the door somewhere, I've done well. There are two problems. One is I have no idea how to land an entry level position in such a company. The other is that I'm starting out late at the age of 29. [more inside]

I want to be able to stream whatever my computer is playing to another room in the house. In addition, I would like to occasionally stream videos to our old, but oversized, TV in another room.
I started shopping and looking at media streaming bridges and wireless speakers and frankly it seems there are a bunch of options and I don't know where to start. It probably needs to go 40 or 50 feet away. I don't think bluetooth would work and the only things I own with an ethernet port are my computer and the wireless router.
Can someone point me towards a good reliable sytem?

Right now I just take turns plugging them into whichever laptop I'm going to use to watch the videos. I'd like something a little more convenient and easily accessible from multiple rooms in my small apartment, but I'm not awesome at setting up networky things (I've never successfully gotten two different laptops in my apartment to even "see" each other over the wireless router). Is there a quick (or a quicker) way to download all files of a given type from the Media Library of a self-hosted WordPress site? The site in question has about 200 MP3s. I can easily sort out the MP3s by selecting "Audio." But how can I download them all at once? Is there a plug-in? FTP looks like a big pain, too, as these files are organized in folders by year and month, and there are several years here -- and many months with no uploads at all.

For a long time now, I have been interested in becoming a music supervisor in the film/television industry, music researcher or working in a production music library. iTunes Filter. 1. Why would the information for a song (e.g. artist name, song name) be displayed properly in iTunes but in Media Monkey/SAM the artist name is missing and the song name is listed with a number in front of it? 2. Also in Media Monkey/SAM, there are many duplicates of songs that aren't duplicated in iTunes (and these will have the artist name and the song name listed properly). Please note that this is not the case with all my songs (over 21,000), but enough of them (maybe 2,000--3,000) that it does pose a problem when I'm DJing or organising my music. Plus, y'know, I have a tidy mind and this is bugging me.
