The Internet appears to have swallowed an almost ten-year old commercial from the NYTimes about its (then new) Weekender subscription service, which included the famous "Saturdays, the word alone makes me happy" comment. It was parodied here by the 92Y Tribeca (RIP) and was then revised by the NY Times. I am, however, looking for the original ad that ran in 2006 (according to this Time article). Was even able to locate the abridged version of the commercial, but can't find the original. MeFi's can you help me save this from the internet rabbit hole?

A few days ago I went to see my local Career Advisor at school. She said I was miles ahead of every other humanities grad as I have 15 months of work experience. She told me to contact various guilds and organizations in my area... [more inside]
I've been looking at Media Studies grad programs and the most attractive I'm come across is the Media Studies Masters at the New School. The catch is, I really don't want to move to NYC. Does anyone have experience with the New School's online MA programs? I've only been able to find one blog post about doing this particular program online, where the student was sort of defending it like, "This is NOT University of Phoenix!" Or thoughts on online MA's in general? I've taken one class online (through MassArt) and I learned a lot, but never felt like "Dang! That was a great class!" Which may or may not have anything to do with it being online....
How can I use Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, "the cloud," podcasting, any other new-fangled social or distributive media to get the word out about the great work being done at our large university satellite research facility? Yes, I'm an old fogey. Computer literate, but not social media savvy. Suggestions? Experiences? (some details within...) [more inside]
I'd like a semester where students wrote blogs, podcasts, and filmed vlogs instead of writing essays.

I am throwing a small New Year's Eve party, and would like to be able to show the ball dropping in Times Square -- and optionally more of the programing around that moment -- despite not having a television signal into my home. I've a large LCD monitor (42"), a laptop with an HDMI input into said TV, a Windows PC, and an XBox 360. What's the best way to go about setting something up for my guests and I to watch?

Hello. Here’s the lowdown: I’m the senior sound designer / managing director for a leading international sound library company who’s been successfully running a company that doesn’t belong to me for 6 years. I’ve exhausted this opportunity, as the company is limited in its ability to grow due to the owners methods. In short, although I still have my job (and could have it forever, so to speak), I need to get out. I’m striving to create an opportunity for myself (and potentially for some of the other amazing employees I’ve hired who are looking for better opportunities) by starting a new company, and I must act now as I am not getting any younger.. I’ve been thinking this through for almost 6 months now, and something seeming great has just happened. Can you help me make the most out of it? [more inside]
