Looking for digital ad strategy graduate programs in NYC. I've worked for almost 2 years (graduated college in the summer of 07) in web analytics/market research, and while I was laid off a few weeks ago, what I think I really want to do is make a career out of digital strategy (kind of a combo of both from what I understand).

I'm currently working on my MBA at a relatively prestigious business school and am coming to understand that my parents are in a grave financial situation that may lead to them having to file for bankruptcy. My father's been unable to get steady work for the last year or two and my mother's income isn't large enough to maintain the household and service their debt. In all likelihood they'll lose their house in two to three months unless something dramatic happens.
I'm considering dropping out of school and returning home to help them weather the storm but I don't know a) if they'd be able to stomach it, b) whether I'd be able to find a job quickly enough to fend off the fallout, c) if I'm really serious about doing this, d) if this is the right thing for me to do, and e) what it'll mean for my future.

Company was paying for grad school, but had to cut back. I can't put off finishing my degree, but I can't afford the out of pocket expenses either. They also cut back on my 401k. I'm considering a lot of options but none of them seem pretty. What should I do?

What kind of jobs are open only to a JD/MBA, or would be likely to express a strong preference to someone with both degrees? I have a general idea, but I'm looking for specific examples so I could justify (or, if there are few/no examples, forget about) the time & expense of a dual degree (vs. only a JD).

I am starting back to school for my masters degree after 3 years off. I graduated undergrad in '06 and to be honest i didnt have very good study skills. i did the least i could to get by. I know i'll have to focus and work much harder this time!
Can anyone suggest some good skills i might develop for managing my time and staying focused. Where do you guys study? my bedroom is a bad option i think. How do you organize notes? What kind of music do you listen to, if any at all? earplugs a good idea?

Where to go from Dubai? I'm going to Dubai in April with my Executive MBA program. I've read great posts on Dubai, but what would be the best place to go after for 4-5 days without breaking the bank. Sri Lanka? Cairo? I love history and sightseeing and likely won't get another opportunity for extensive global travel for some time. Basically, what's the best use of our time in this part of the world? Flying directly from Houston, so connecting cities are out.

What do you think of a Masters in Information Technology versus an MBA? I am passionate about new media/emerging tech but also know I want to be in business. Would I be cutting off too many options if I just went for an MS versus an MBA? What about dual degrees? Do they exist at top institutions?

I'm almost finished with my Masters in International Business and have started sending out job applications to a number of companies, nearly all of which are involved in strategic consultancy. The top companies, quite understandably, are fiercely competitive. I know I have what it takes, but I want the best chance possible of showing
them that too.

I am contemplating on pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting. I am hoping to eventually be a CFO of a public company one day, and it seems having a CPA is better than spending additional year or two getting an MBA in Finance or something. I'd very much appreciate any feedback on this!

A couple years ago, I took the GMAT and thus got subscribed (to be fair, I think I opted in) to get on a bunch of schools' marketing lists. I seem to have fallen off of that list, despite the fact that right now I am starting to seriously look into MBA programs. How do I get back on the "please spam me" list for B-Schools?

Right now, I plan to start business school in the fall. It's a top five program, and in all likelihood, my salary after school will be about twice what I make now. That said, I'll be borrowing about $80K to cover the costs in the short-term. Is this a good idea? I'm excited about b-school in general but perhaps not to the extent that I'm willing to incur a debt that will burden me for decades to come.

I was thinking going back for an MBA, but realize I may be looking for something different. My background is in Internet, technology and media, and I have a degree in computer science. I'm also good at design. I've started technology businesses on my own, but I want to make a change and open up new directions. My interests lie more in the area of innovation, new product development/design, consulting and entrepreneurship. From the research I've done, most of the MBA programs are pretty similar, and geared to people who want to work on Wall Street or in large corporations. While I'm not particularly interested in these areas, I definitely want to learn about business as pertains to my areas of interest, and make new connections. Are there any graduate programs (MBA or otherwise) more tailored more toward my interests?
