Is it better to get an MBA in the U.S. than elsewhere?

Is it better to earn an MBA at a 2nd or 3rd tier b-school in the U.S. or a top 5 b-school at a developing country? Especially if the student is planning on eventually returning to the U.S., will that MBA be accepted in the U.S. in terms of a job offer, considering it’s globally accredited? [more inside]

Alternatives to an Economics PhD

I am planning on applying to economics PhD programs for next year, but before I commit I wanted to think about alternatives, especially in light of all the articles lately about how PhD programs and academia in general are a pyramid scheme. What other careers/education might be a less painful way of getting to a job that fits my life goals. [more inside]

Should I drop out of law school or finish my last year, or get a MBA? I need help fixing my life.

I am 24 years old and am just having a tough time with life in general. One of my most specific problems is that I am currently in my second year of law school (the school is ranked right around 100) and I hate it. I don't know whether it would be best to finish my law degree, apply to a MBA program, or just drop out completely and get whatever job I can find and start working my way up. [more inside]

No more company-funded tuition reimbursement, how to afford grad school?

Company was paying for grad school, but had to cut back. I can't put off finishing my degree, but I can't afford the out of pocket expenses either. They also cut back on my 401k. I'm considering a lot of options but none of them seem pretty. What should I do? [more inside]

What kind of jobs are uniquely tailored to a JD/MBA?

What kind of jobs are open only to a JD/MBA, or would be likely to express a strong preference to someone with both degrees? I have a general idea, but I'm looking for specific examples so I could justify (or, if there are few/no examples, forget about) the time & expense of a dual degree (vs. only a JD).
