## Should we give daughter special education or let her be who she is?

We are troubled as to whether or not we should put our daughter in a math special education program. The school has said she needs it, but she is adamant that she does not want to be seen as different.

## Counting 101 (and beyond)

Our three year old LOVES to say his letters and numbers. When he gets to Z, he triumphantly (and accurately) announces "and that's all the letters!" When he gets to 100 he proudly informs us, "that's all the numbers!" I've tried to tell him about 101, 102, etc., but he does not believe me. He would believe it if a YouTube video or app told him so. Any suggestions? (Yep, I know this is not a big deal. I just like watching the light bulb go on when he realizes just how big the world is.)

## Vicarious Math Pressure

My eldest child is starting high school. She is in the most advanced math class (a version of geometry) offered by her fairly demanding high school. But my eldest is struggling during the review of algebra -- rate problems, word problems, etc. Concerned because math is cumulative, and I don't want her falling behind. What can I do to help, both with math and with preventing her from becoming discouraged?

## How can I help my (nearly) seven year old son "get" maths?

How can I help my 6 1/2 year old son to *get* maths? It hasn't clicked with him at all and I find myself getting frustrated with having to repeat really basic stuff when helping him with his homework. I'm not a maths genius myself and I really don't want to put him off by getting cranky because he's just not getting it. How do I help him get it?
