Can a massage actually fix this back spasm, or will I feel good for an hour and then go back to being in pain? I have three days to get better so I don't have time to fool around. Yoga? Muscle relaxants? What's got the best shot at actually doing something?

A friend is looking for the perfect electric blanket to keep her massage table warm for the people she will be massaging (nothing kinky, sorry to disappoint).
She's looking for electric blankets that heats quickly (under 15 minutes would be perfect), also required : a timer. This has to be an electric blanket for one person.
Any make/model available in Europe to recommend ?

I want to buy a gift certificate to a day spa for a twenty-something gay man with upscale conservative taste. I'm looking for a place that's sleek, sophisticated and oriented towards men, with good massage and other services, high standards for service and cleanliness, and ideally also offering lunch and cocktails. The kind of place where someone could lounge around all day drinking a mimosa and reading the paper, wearing slippers and a robe. It needs to be in San Francisco proper, not elsewhere in the Bay Area.

What "style" of massage would you ask for from a professional if you wanted the kind of massage a normal person would give you (but done better) -- a pinching (in a good way) sort of massage without lotion or oil? Swedish seems to have a lot more rolling, and deep tissue is generally much more focused and greater pressure, and both seem to mostly use lotion/oil.

Meeting up with a friend in Marseille and taking the car down to the Pyrenées for a few days of fun and relaxation (aka vacation). Have never been to Andorra before, nor this region.
We're keen on both gastronomic (local food and wine) and bodily pleasures (spa's, massage), which are much needed since we're both in the software development line of work.

Lonely, hungry for intimacy, ravenous to be touched, coddled or stroked. I'm old, sick and unattractive, I used to be smoking hot but men don't look at me any more, nor do they even acknowledge my presence. The area I live in is sparse for dating, and I've even tried one night stands. I have given up. What are some other ways to get the physical needs I have for the human social intimate relationship I do not have? I've done the CL casual encounters, internet dating etc.... Going for a massage now to see if it helps, and yes I have a loving and much loved pet....but I need more. Any resources? I'm sure there are others like me out there.

Can you help me find a name for my new small business - it is going to reflect my recent Swedish/therapeutic massage and waxing qualifications - and interest in helping people ease tension in their bodies to help them deal with the rest of their lives. I am hoping to attract sport-related clients, but also people who want relaxation massage (so a flowery spa type name might not work). The business name needs to appeal to a broad range of people, enable me to expand later to broader aspects such as pilates, holistic healing and possibly life coaching. I have to be really careful not to have a name that gives the wrong impression about the type of massage (e.g. Euphoria). What do you think would work? 'Align', 'Ascend'.....??

I've got a bad back and neck from playing piano and double-bass a large part of my life, and lately working a lot at the computer. Since I'm in Tokyo for another couple of days or so, I thought I'd ask around for the absolute best massage in town, that also won't break the bank. (It's a pretty sizable traveler's bank, but I'm not rich.)
I've seen the (in?)famous massage where a woman (men are too heavy me guess) walks on the back and cracks the joints. Is that something recommended? Looks darn cool! :)

Seattle Mefis: Anyone know a top-notch swedish style masseur/eusse? Was just in NY and my friend had me meet him for a few hours at the famous Russian steam baths on E. 10th. I booked a massage, explaining that "I have sciatica problem, and woujld like Swedish style, and someone who will be good working on a specific problem". Well, it was FANTASTIC. She kneaded, pounded, pressed out the most painful point where the sciatica is enflamed, then soothed, stretched out my hands, legs, etc. Wow. It was 30 minutes, but the greatest. She was so thorough in only 30.
Anyone in Seattle? ... hopefully someone highly professional who might even have a hot shower/steam room in their place of business. (I once had massage in Sea. where the man did have his whole basement level fixed up like that.)
