My SO's back and neck seem to be permanently tied in knots. She doesn't seem like a tense person, but her muscles indicate otherwise. I can massage her for a while, but it only does so much for her. Can anyone give me suggestions to help her relax her back and neck? [more inside]

Have a slightly fickle lower back after a car wreck (have had phys therapy etc) and tweaked it moving furniture this weekend. Does anyone have a good massage therapist in the Downtown Los Angeles or East Hollywood area that specializes in massaging that kind of issue?

I looove it when my girlfriend walks on my back - nothing gets out those big knots like a well-placed heel. Is there a name for this? Any suggestions on improving/refining the technique? Any dangers, providing she doesn't step right on my spine?
