I need to read something from the new or old testament at my grandfather's funeral. I was close with him and he was a very special figure in my life. I'm not Catholic or Christian but I'd love to find something that resonates in some way about his life or has some bigger wisdom. I don't know which texts are proper for Catholic Funeral Service/Mass. I don't even know when to sit, stand or kneel... I would be grateful for suggestions from folks on some meaningful and appropriate choices. [more inside]
www.massplanner.com Googling mostly gets me info on planning a Roman Catholic service... Appears to allow for posting automation across all the major platforms, along with other bells and whistles. I can kick the tires on it and decide whether it's better or worse than Hootsuite - my major question for AskMe is - has anyone heard of it, and is it legit? [more inside]
Using the traditional postal service, I would like to sent out a 1000 mail packs. I would really like to be able to easily record which mail packs have been sent out on a particular week. Ideally, this system would also prevent duplicates being sent out. [more inside]
I just read this comment, and thought this was AWESOME. But unfortunately, it kinda doesn't work. Does your city have an app (iOS preferable, but I can always get a cheap android phone to check it out), that has an AWESOME app for mass transit? Whats the app? "Real time tracker" is what I'm looking for (i think). It need not be awesome in terms of fonts, design, etc. I kinda just want it to be more than a list of schedules. [more inside]
I have a length of steel box section, 80mm x 80mm, 3.6mm thick which is 4m in length. I want to put something onto it, in the centre that weighs 900kg. I want to know how to calculate whether this is possible but am unsure how to do it. I really want to know the maximum amount of weight I can put on before it breaks.
We are looking for a "midnight" mass Christmas service in Providence or Warwick, RI. We are not religious and don't live there, but nonetheless have very specific desires (after the break). [more inside]
While driving in very remote small town I was cited for Failure to Stop. There are problems with the case, details here are not pertinent, I meant to contest in a hearing but forgot to send in the papers. Now MA wants to suspend permission to drive in the state unless I pay $380 to avoid the suspension. I barely have half that and rely on monthly social security. What can I do to find a solution to this problem? Before Dec. 31.

Hello all, I was laid off from my job in July and went to Europe for a few months. Now that I am back in USA, I tried to sign up for affordable care act via www.mahealthconnector.org/ only to find out this site is the reincarnation of the devil. I cannot finish my application for this health insurance because I get stuck on a page that requires me to put in my employer info. Now since I am unemployed I obviously do not have an employer. This site literally will not let me complete the rest of the application without entering a whole bunch of information on my current employer which does not exist! How on earth do people without jobs apply for this?? Does anyone else run into this frustrating issue? Is there any other health insurance I can sign up for?
I'm launching a Kickstarter campaign tomorrow, and I have around 1500 people to email. How do I do this simply? I'd like the emails to come from my personal gmail address (and not DONOTREPLY@Mail1000.com or something), and if possible, I'd like to customize the emails such that they refer to each person by name (I have everyone in an excel file at the moment). If relevant for potential software/plugin solutions, I have a Mac and a Wordpress site on a good server.
Ok, so I have not been following the MA primary as close as I would like for the last couple of months since Markey resigned. I am doing as much research as possible prior to the primary tomorrow but one issue in particular I have not been able to find much on despite my googling around. [more inside]

Settle an argument. A 150 person falls and grabs something as they do. Assuming they have kung-fu grip, how much weight does the thing they grab need to be able to withstand without tearing, breaking, whatever. I say the weight of the person. They say it's their weight and g-forces combined. Who is right and if they are, how do you calculate those g-forces? And if they are twisting as they fall, does torque figure into it?

Scientists recently announced more evidence of the existence of the Higgs Boson, at a mass of around 125GeV. This indicates a mass significantly larger than that of a proton. If this is the particle that gives all other particles the property of mass, how is it possible for an single unit to have more mass than the particles it confers mass on? [more inside]

YANAD. Boyfriend has pea-ish sized hard mass right above belly button which doesn't protrude. Mild sharp pain, worse after eating. Touching it doesn't cause extra pain. He's also been extra gassy and a bit constipated. First noticed the lump/pain 4-5 days ago. Our health insurance is kicking in August 1st (and it's an HMO, so don't know how fast he'll be able to see someone). Is this something he should see a doctor about immediately? Should I be taking him to an ER? Lumpy masses are scary . . .

I know you aren't my doctor, but I'm just frustrated and hoping for some ideas while I wait for a follow-up appointment. Asking for a friend: Once every few months, my friend needs to send a mass email to a bunch of folks who have emailed her. She uses Gmail.
