Settle an argument. A 150 person falls and grabs something as they do. Assuming they have kung-fu grip, how much weight does the thing they grab need to be able to withstand without tearing, breaking, whatever. I say the weight of the person. They say it's their weight and g-forces combined. Who is right and if they are, how do you calculate those g-forces? And if they are twisting as they fall, does torque figure into it?

Scientists recently announced more evidence of the existence of the Higgs Boson, at a mass of around 125GeV. This indicates a mass significantly larger than that of a proton. If this is the particle that gives all other particles the property of mass, how is it possible for an single unit to have more mass than the particles it confers mass on?

YANAD. Boyfriend has pea-ish sized hard mass right above belly button which doesn't protrude. Mild sharp pain, worse after eating. Touching it doesn't cause extra pain. He's also been extra gassy and a bit constipated. First noticed the lump/pain 4-5 days ago. Our health insurance is kicking in August 1st (and it's an HMO, so don't know how fast he'll be able to see someone). Is this something he should see a doctor about immediately? Should I be taking him to an ER? Lumpy masses are scary . . .

I know you aren't my doctor, but I'm just frustrated and hoping for some ideas while I wait for a follow-up appointment. For the last two months, I've developed a tender mass on the left side of my abdomen, right underneath the ribs. I noticed it during my last period, it stopped hurting after a few days, and now it's come back again with my next period.

Asking for a friend: Once every few months, my friend needs to send a mass email to a bunch of folks who have emailed her. She uses Gmail. Because she has never emailed these people before, they do not "pop up" automagically as contacts when she types their name, and there are far too many to make this a practical solution anyway. Any ideas?

I have written a macro to import the files and rename the worksheet accordingly, but I'm new to VBA and can't for the life of me work out how to get Excel to automatically repeat the import from File_1.csv to File_x.csv. Help please?

Help me with this Urban Planning problem. I live in your typical bedroom community on the perimeter of a large metropolitan area. We have about 30,000 residents and a lot going for us in terms of community and location. We're going to get hooked up on the regions new commuter rail system, but it's on the far side of the community and I don't see it getting much use without a feeder system of some kind. Our regional mass transit system sucks otherwise; so we're on our own to develop an intra-community system that will keep our community vibrant, green, and support commuter rail.

I am planning a trip to Chicago this weekend, and my goal is to learn the L by picking fun stops across the city (my husband and I are ex-New Yorkers who love mass transit.) What are some suggestions for fun places to shop/eat/sight-see that are close to L stops? Our starting point is Diversey and N Clark, but we hope to cover a lot of territory. Please include descriptions about your recommendations and (of course) the nearest L station name.
