I just learned that in 2006, Steven Colbert challenged his fans to mash up Beatles songs with Christmas songs. I found a couple on YouTube, but can see that there was once a site with a whole collection of the mashups, titled the "White Christmas Album." All the links for it that I've Googled seem to be dead or otherwise sketchy. Can anyone point me to a source to download the collection? Thanks!
I want to make a very specific kind of electronic music purely for fun, but getting a bit overwhelmed by all the hardware and software options out there, as well as the best way to actually learn them effectively with super limited time. Can someone help a snowflake out? Difficulty level: Sampling from Apple Music or Spotify [more inside]
I'm trying to find a mashup I downloaded years ago. It included "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, as well as several other songs, but it did not include "Don't Worry Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin, or at least I don't think it did. (I found a mashup of those three songs, and it's not what I remember.) I recall reading that the DJ who created it wanted to make a pleasant, happy mashup that his grandmother would enjoy. Can you help?

I'm looking for recommendations for hip-hop tracks that have backing instrumentals that sound like Tom Waits tracks or that are straight-up mashups with hip hop tracks. (This doesn’t just mean sampling. “Oodles of O’s” by De La Soul samples Waits, but it doesn’t sound like Waits track.) Thanks!

What were these called (if indeed they were called something), and where can I find out more about them? (Note that the video here has been retrofitted onto a 70s radio single.) I loved them as a 70s kid (they were pretty popular for a couple of years), and now I find them adorably stupid and kind of fascinating for some reason. Certainly not because they are clever.
Been trying to re-find this video all morning. It's a mashup of some morning aerobics show (possibly British) featuring one lady and two dudes. She's obviously the lead/instructor. [more inside]
My 12-year-old son hit me with an awesome idea for an audio mashup; take the vocal track from Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" and lay it over the music from Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" (working title: "A Wrecking Ball I Used To Know"). I need help finding the right software. [more inside]

I recently discovered this hiphop mashup of Paul Simon's Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard. Do you know of any other uptempo, danceable remixes/mashups of older songs that would normally play on the easy listening station?
I used to be really into the mashup scene, but in recent years I've really fallen behind and only have one or two blogs that I'm following that don't really post new things that often. Does anyone have any recommendations? General remix blogs are fine, too, but I'm mostly looking for the classic 'multiple songs shoved together to make new ones' type.

I can't for the life of me remember the name of a particular megamix/mashup album/artist. I remember that the first track sounded like it started with the helicopter sound from the beginning of one of the 'Another Brick..' tracks from Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', then it either sampled 'Little Fluffy Clouds' or used sampled the same interview. Closer to the end of the album 'Your Song' was mixed in. Any ideas? I believe the artist also had an album featuring mostly Flaming Lips mixes. Both were available free on his website.

I really love this mashup of Lady GaGa and Behemoth. Does anyone know of music like it (I really like the pop/death metal mix - it makes me smile)? I've listened to the other videos by the same uploader but I'd like more :)

I really like mashups that juxtapose hip-hop/R&B/reggae with classic rock/radio pop. Some good examples are Girl Talk's music, this Biggie Smalls/Miley Cyrus mashup, and this Beatles/Black Eyed Peas/Ludacris/ etc mashup. What are the best executed and most fun ones you've heard?

I use ableton to create mashup mixes for friends as a bit of fun and would like to introduce some custom drums and beats to aid transition from track to track similar to girl talk, eclectic method, diplo etc. to take my mixes to the next level. Ideally i would like some suggestions for the following 1)Where to find the drum patterns for ableton that are similar to that Girl talk uses (these are usually very hip hop type arrangements) 2) What drum pack/drum sounds i should be using and where i can find/buy these 3) If any ableton premade packs exist that contain these sort of patterns and samples already

What's this song? It was on US Top 40 radio in the late 80s. It's a mashup sorta thingie of musical styles, starting out with a big band playing "In the Mood" and moving forward through different popular music styles to the modern day. IIRC at the very end there is a brief return to a little bit of In the Mood.
