Just moved to Baltimore (working in Columbia), haven't had time to unpack let alone find a new PCP, and wouldn't you know it, i'm sick. Does anyone have any recommendations for a drop-in clinic or urgent care facility in the Laurel-Ellicott City-Columbia area that (a) won't charge ER rates and (b) has decent staff? I found several when I googled, but have no way to evaluate them other than google recommendations. Bonus points if you can ALSO recommend other good practitioners (I need a primary care physician, an endocrinologist and a dermatologist) in that area or the south side of Baltimore for when I have time to set up appointments for initial visits.

At the end of August I heard an author being interviewed on the Baltimore NPR about her book on the history of Maryland. I was in the car and couldn't write down her name or the name of the book, and I can't seem to find it listed on Amazon. Does anyone know what this book might be?
In the part I heard she was talking about Maryland's history as a Catholic/Royalist haven, and the tensions this caused with neighboring Virginia.

How's the current Sprint voice/data coverage around Baltimore MD and College Park MD? I'm thinking of switching our family plan from T-Mobile to Sprint and wondering if any Maryland mefites can provide some idea of Sprint coverage. I don't really trust the
Sprint coverage maps but it implies that coverage is pretty good.

I'm looking for a place to hold a company picnic roughly midway between Baltimore city and Prince George's County. We're looking for a park or other outdoor space that could accommodate around 100 people and permits the serving of alcohol. Grills would be a bonus (although realistically we'll probably end up renting them), and we definitely need space for a moon bounce! Our tentative date is August 7th. Ideas? Thanks!

So I'm moving from Baltimore to Atlanta for work - yay, new job! Boo, leaving the East Coast! I've got a month remaining, so in the time between finishing my business here and taking deep breaths, what should I do here that I won't be able to do in the south?

I'm looking for extremely primitive beach camping sites (preferably on the Chesapeake) in the DC/MD/VA area. I'm talking about places with no running water, no bathrooms, nothing but nature for miles around.
Assateague Island's backcountry camping sites are a perfect example of what I'm looking for. Any suggestions? Thanks!

As the chair of my fraternity's Fall-Formal Committee, I hold the distinct pleasure of locating a venue for this semester's night of dressy revelry. I'd love to find a nice lodge or similar, more intimate digs where we can hire our own bartender, do our own DJing, etc. Does such a place exist in or around

Anybody have a clue what's going on at
BovineUnite.com? Billboards started showing up here in the Baltimore area a week or so ago. The site is registered locally, but the execution of the site seems too good to be just some local prank. So far, the only Google reference to the site is a
Craigslist ad looking for people to travel around Maryland wearing the cowsuit. What are they advertising? Skim milk? Chick-Fil-A?

A friend is moving to Baltimore, MD. She has been offered a good apartment, but we don't have any contacts there to scope out the area. So, we are calling on MeFites who may be able to help us with a neighborhood question (and general Baltimore advice)! [More Inside]
