-themed breakfast can I cook for my daughter's birthday this weekend? It doesn't have to be a recipe featured in the films, anything inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be fine. [more inside]

Recently i've been getting into marvel comics more, more specifically Thor and Captain America. I've almost finished vol. 1 of Thor:The Mighty Avenger that basically talks about him and Jane and i'm really enjoying it so far. I think they only have 3 trades for that so after i finish that series where should i go from there?
As for Captain America i've never read any of it, but i think i'd like to start out with something newer that gets into his orgins first and then going from there.
I wouldn't mind reading any of the other Avengers as well like Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hulk, and Iron man but i don't know where to start with any of those either. But if anyone has some ideas i'd really appreciate it!

What's worth reading from DC or Marvel, or the other guys in the last decade or so? I'm looking for superhero comics written recently enough that I can buy the trades new easily. I'll leave my likes and dislikes below. [more inside]

I'd like to read some great old Marvel comics. The only reprinted compilations that I've seen in bookstores are the Essentials, which are in black and white (when the whole point is how colourful they are), and the Masterpiece series, which are expensive, and the colours don't look right when printed on the shiny paper. Is there any way to get reprints in colour on newsprint? I know there was at one point, since I first encountered the Fantastic Four in Archie's-double-digest-like format.

A few years back I found a website that listed out all the comics that Marvel has published throughout their history in a year by year basis. The page was set up in a very basic HTML grid format, but it was amazingly comprehensive. I need
to find it to calm my anal retentive impulse to read all my back issues in chronological order.
It was not Mike's Amazing World of Marvel Comics
as much as I do love that site, it just isn't quite enough to fulfill my completist nature.

I'm making a lightweight replica of Captain America's shield (the modern-day circular one), most likely with PVC in a laser router machine. The only dimensions I can secure online are that it's 30 inches in diameter, but I can't find any info on thickness and concave depth. Anyone know the missing dimensions I need? Bonus points if there exist specifics on the width of the color bars but I'm pretty sure that part I can eyeball during painting. Thanks!
