I was hoping to be offered a writing job on the editorial side, but instead I'm going to be on the business/advertising side. What does this mean for me?

I'm hoping MeFi can help me with the why and how of an unusual business situation. I own a small marketing agency. An elderly woman wants to retain me to make a Facebook page and write about how she was wronged/is still being wronged by a pair of judges who will not drop a case that should be dropped. In addition to calling out the judges she will make a larger point that judicial character reform is necessary.

I have a two part question. I've just interviewed well known performer who has just released his first solo CD. He owns all of the rights to the lyrics and music, and his own company published the CD. A radio station I'm associated with plans to put the interview online, as well as broadcast it within the week. If the musician is OK with me putting it on my own website, how might it drive traffic to his site and my site? And is there anything extra I can to make it attract listeners and drive that traffic?

I am currently finishing up a program to become a certified dog trainer, and will soon be thrown out into the world to do what I will. I am not assuming that this will be a full time gig to begin with, and figured that I would do classes or private lessons on the side for a while. How can I do a successful job of marketing myself for these kinds of things? I have a couple of specific questions.

Though I've been working with web development since the 90's, I have a hands-on knowledge gap when it comes to internet marketing techniques like SEO, Adwords, analytics and the like. What are the best sources, free or paid, to learn more? I've been looking around for good resources, but it looks like this field is dominated by crooks. Any recommendations of books and sites written by reputable professionals is appreciated. I'm also a big fan of video lectures, if you know of any.

What should I be paid? My job is essentially a combination of marketing and web content creation. I write blog and page content for the website of a retail company.
My writing requires an in-depth and technical knowledge about the general field as well as an intimate knowledge about how to convey this information in an attractive way to the consumer base. I constantly update my own knowledge in order to provide this content.
I write consumer friendly technical info for the individual products as well as more elaborate landing pages to bring google ad traffic to. I add in-depth daily blog posts. I am also expected to manage the email marketing and as well as the online Google ads. Since I have begun this work, the readership and web sales have shot up and I expect it to continue to climb.

So... Facebook
TM sent an email to my email address from someone who I don't know but lives in my general geographical area requesting my friendship. Problem: this email address is definitely not associated with a Facebook
TM account. However, there are probably cookies from FB on this computer. Also, this potential "friend" appears to run some sort of digital media consultancy (blech). Question: how did Facebook scrape this email address exactly and why did I get this email? Did this guy pay Facebook to send a friend request to an email address they scraped or is it something more automatic?

I have been tasked by my boss to look into legit vendors of services to: increase our facebook fan page likes, and increase our twitter followers. Take it as a given that I have already tried to dissuade him, and help me at least execute the task as best as possible. Ideally, i am looking for services that actually help you get real people and not fake accounts or spam bots, etc.
