I bought a couple necklaces at an estate sale. They are vermeil (gold plating over sterling silver) and as such bear 925 Italy marks on the clasps, and also have a cursive V that in a stretch could perhaps be read as a 6V or a GV
but really just looks to me like a cursive V
. I figure it's either the maker (and if so, does anyone know what company?) or it's a code I don't yet know for the amount/quality of gold used or perhaps it literally stands for vermeil. Google unhelpfully keeps offering initial necklaces of the letter V.

I have been seeing a great guy non-exclusively for about three months (yep, the dreaded three month mark). We're both 27. Everything had been going very well up until this past weekend, when I met up with him and his friends at a concert. I was supposed to attend the concert with my best friend but we had a huge falling out the night before and I very inappropriately chose to drink my feelings. While I didn't do anything awful, I felt like my behavior was unflattering.
He dropped me off after the show and the next day, I texted him an apology "for being annoying" and said I had a good time with hregardless and have a good day. 8 hours later, he responded asking if he made me uncomfortable. I said no, not at all, but I was self conscious that I had drank more than I intended. Two days later he responded "it's fine." I haven't heard from him otherwise. Communication up to this point had been good, and almost always initiated by him.
I feel like I shot myself in the foot, but it also seems silly to throw away something good over something so minor. Is his silence indication that he's through? Should I give it more time to see if he comes around. or should I try reaching out again? [more inside]

I saw a post on tumblr, about why some larger bills have little stamps on them. The reason they gave is that drug dealers will stamp the bills to keep track of them. This makes absolutely no sense to me.
So question one is, does this sound accurate? Does anyone have any way of saying if this is or isn't true?
Question two, why the heck are these stamps on bills?
Here's a picture
of a purported drug dealer stamped bill.

I'm looking for the exact prose by author Mark Leyner that begins something like "My sister is the beautiful day, the menthol of autumn..."
but google is just giving me reviews of his work. I think it was part of "My Cousin, My Gastroenterologist". Ta, Mefi people.

What does this symbol
mean? It's a rectangle with two circles on the bottom like wheels, and a squat diamond on top. It's on the back of a 3DS. [more inside]

My bike helmet leaves deep indentations on my forehead. The marks are really bad right when I get to work, and linger for most of the day. What can I do to get them to go away faster? How can I prevent them? I still get them when I use a head wrap in the winter, so a cap or a bandanna underneath probably won't help. My helmet fits comfortably and I'm usually well hydrated. There's an interview on a news site which I want to present (in its entirety) for my blog readers, but with certain passages highlighted by me. I don't want to violate copyright, so I won't publish a doctored version directly on my blog. Is there technology that lets one "mark up" third party web pages and present them as-is (i.e. no need for further collaboration) to an audience? Or is this just wishful thinking? :)

I tried to install Leopard on my macbook, which is less than a year old. I got a kernel error, so I ran FSCK twice until no errors were showing up. I still get the blinking question mark, twice, then a normal boot sequence.
Is this a software problem caused by Leopard (a friend's machine had the same response), a failing hard drive, or something else? [more inside]
