Speed-dating in San Francisco / Bay Area: Do you know of an active/reliable/recommendation-worthy speed-dating event in San Francisco or North Bay? More specifically, I'm man-seeking-woman and looking for an event demographically strong in 20s & 30s childless professional women. It would be nice if it was an environment where we didn't need to raise our voices to be heard, but the people are the important thing. (My speed-dating experience so far has been arriving to discover that my friend and I were the only people who showed up for it.) [more inside]

Mrs. Arbac and I will be up in the Bay Area this coming weekend. We had hoped to take a Cheese/Wine tour through West Marin Food and Farm Tours
after reading about them in a recent newspaper article. But sadly, they're all booked up for Sunday June 30th and their tour starts a little too early on Saturday to make it up to Marin from SFO Saturday morning. Does anyone have recommendations for an alternative tour operator?

A few months ago, I booked an incredible deal on a flight to spend 4 days next week in or around San Francisco. Life got busy, and I still haven't made any actual plans for what we're going to do, or where we're going to stay. We've been to SF a few times before, and want to rent a car and explore the area surrounding the city this time around -- particularly to the North. Any budget-friendly suggestions? [more inside]

I just moved to Oakland from LA. I find Twitter to be really useful. Please recommend Bay Area-ish Twitter feeds (for Oakland, San Francisco and Marin, since I'll be spending lots of time time in all three regions) I should be following. [more inside]

I've always wondered about the lyrics to the Dead Kennedys' song "Moon Over Marin". It seems like one would have had to have lived in California in the late 70s-early 80s to get all the references in the song, so I'm hoping someone who did can explain them. [more inside]

I'm thinking of flying into San Francisco (SFO), renting a car, driving up the coast, and flying home from Portland.
I'll spend a few days in the city before heading north. I want to avoid renting the car either at the airport or in the city. (This is a fun trip. Driving in San Francisco is never fun for me.)
I've rented before from a small Hertz shop within walking distance of the ferry landing in Sausalito. Are there other rental car shops within equally easy reach from public transportation or a cab from the city into Marin?

My friend is suddenly getting married. It's a court-house wedding for immigration etc reasons. The "real" wedding will be in spring when all the parents will be here. Despite the fact that this is a paper wedding it's still a huge deal for all concerned and at the very least we want to go out to a fancy restaurant.
The wedding will be in Marin, California. What is a pretty restaurant on the water in the area? Edible food is a bonus. Sausalito? Tiburon? Pt. Reyes? Any place? Any place?
Help! This is for Tuesday, the 19th!
