Thanks to the easy new web-based jailbreaking tool, even an idiot like me was able to jailbreak my iPhone4. I've been enjoying it for a few days, but there are a few functionalities that I'd love to add to my phone, that I can't seem to find on Cydia, etc. I'm pretty new at this, so can anyone help me find an easy way to tweak my phone in the following ways

There have been a few
questions about mindmapping apps before but I'm looking for something to create mind clouds...I want to create large circles with content orbiting around it, with links to Flickr, YouTube, blog entries etc. The closest thing I have found is
Mindcloud.jp but it's a bit wonky and mostly in Japanese. Also I can't see how I would embed it into another site, so ideally I'm looking for some kind of widget that I can embed into a Wordpress blog...or even a Wordpress theme that could create these mind clouds. Any ideas?

I have a list of several hundred complete U.S. street addresses. For each record, I need to identify another record with the nearest address (in road distance), and its distance from the subject record’s address. Is there a free, easy way to accomplish this?

GPS fans: I have a Garmin nuvi 1300T bought 12/2009 with USA maps. It's been worth the cost already, but now I need maps of France. Should I add European maps to the US Garmin, or buy a new one in Europe?

I teach a technical writing class. I'm using Edward Tufte's
Beautiful Evidence as the textbook. The first chapter deals with mapped images and the utility of such images. I need examples of text that would be more useful if it were a mapped image instead. I can comb the interwebs for individual examples, but I can't seem to find any sets of said text examples.

Plague Year, a post-apocalyptic thriller. The main conceit of this science-fiction novel is that a nanotechnology plague that kills any warm blooded animal (including humans), but the disease self-destructs at altitudes above 10,000 feet. How much territory would this be across the whole planet?

Mapping question: I have a list of (imaginary) cities. I also know each city's as-the-crow-flies distance from every
other city on the list. Based on this data alone, I would like to create a (hypothetical) map that shows all of these cities in their proper locations. I recognize that that the map's "rotation" would be arbitrary based on where & how you start plotting, but it seems that you should be able to plot out the relationships between cities properly. Is there software that can help me do this?

I was just recently in Buenos Aires. The Time Out Guide had the maps in the back oriented with north facing down. Why? I would think southern hemisphere maps would still face north up due to magnetic north and wayfinding with a compass. Was this just a case of Time Out being wrong/different/thinking logically that the south pole would be the desired direction of orientation in the southern hemisphere?
And yes, we were perpetually lost until we flipped the guide upside down and west/east left/right were as they should be.

Has anyone seen the
Geographia 5 Borough Street Atlas for sale anywhere in Queens or Long Island? I could order it from Barnes&Noble, but I'm in a big hurry (and fwiw all their stores are "out of stock"). To make this of interest to more than just myself, I'll note that Geographia's atlas is vastly better than the much more common Rand MacNally one (though it's also sorely in need of an update).
