Looking for a great customer management/scheduling solution for a growing IT company

My company is looking for a comprehensive package to manage our IT company, which has grown 1000% over the past 4.5 years. I believe we have outgrown our existing solution. It has to be scalable, user friendly, integrate with Quickbooks, ideally would integrate with Kaseya, and generally be a very full solution. Honestly, Autotask is the best thing we have found, but it is not an option as we cannot host it ourself. Outsourcing all client data to another company means we are beholden to that company for life and that is not an option. We tested Commit but the web interface just wasn't robust. The program itself was very functional, but the interface would lead one to believe that it was intended for smaller shops so we are going to stay away from it. All suggestions and critiques are welcome.

Does cross-platform, self-contained photo management exist?

I'm a single user looking for an easier way to browse my photos. It looks like I need a photo management tool like iPhoto, F-Spot, et al. The catch: if possible, I would like whatever solution I end up with to be cross-platform and self-contained (because I'm scared of entering all of my information into a proprietary database that I can't get my data out of later). Help us manage our Christmas lists

I am trying to find a site that will help the family manage our Christmas lists. 6 family members. Unique logins. Each member can input their lists and everyone else in our group can see it. Now, when I buy a present for someone, I would like everyone else to be able to see that I already bought that present, EXCEPT for the person that I bought the present for. For example, if I see my brother wants an MP3 player, and I buy one, my sister can check the site/list and see the MP3 player has been taken. But, I do not want my brother to be able to see that anyone else bought that present. Emailing while viable, is messy. Any ideas?

Asset booking for cars

My organisation has entasked me with installing a computer-based car booking system. We have roughly 14 cars. We currently use a huge whiteboard to manage this. But we imagine it could be easier to manage if people used a computer to query a database via an asset booking GUI. At least one of the computers ought to be a touchscreen installed somewhere central with a super easy GUI for those who are not so computer-literate. Access control an advantage (registered users, etc). Ability to leave messages about what's wrong with the cars - and equally see what others have reported - a wonderful thing. Also a real boon could be the ability to tell the system, I want a car from then to then - what's available? [more inside]

Help Me Create A Dateless Timeline(s)

I'd like to create a project timeline guide that does not have dates. It is a general guide which indicates at what point in the process a certain action takes place. The timeline would actually be more comprised of several different time lines that overlap. Timelines a, b, and c (etc) wouldn't correspond to individuals but rather larger tasks that are occuring concurrently. I also would need to easily be able to export/print this timeline. My question is: is there a free program that I can use to create this? I have access to photoshop and illustrator but I'd rather not use those. I'm using a Mac running 10.5

My life is a blues song.

Brokenrelationshipfilter? Two weeks ago I found out that my girlfriend of a year had been seeing an acquaintance of my best friend for the past two months. They're over, and she told me, asking that we stay together. I'm not sure now if we're going to or not, but we agreed to six months more to see if we can make it work. I'm pissed, frankly, and she's suffering from horrible post-breakup depression; crying, insomnia, apathy, the works. I do, I believe, love her, but I'm having trouble seeing how we'll get through all the smoke in the air. I'm well aware that I'm the only one who can make this decision, but rationality isn't my strong point right now, and I could use some outside perspective. [more inside]
