You have an online store where customers pay in, say, monthly subscriptions. The customers are able to manage their account online. You also sell a few other items as one-offs via a webstore. None of this requires shipping as your customers pick up in person. What sorts of programs are you using? How do you deal with credit cards? What should this all cost? Any opinions about programs such as Member Assembler, CSAware, Farmigo or DeliveryBizPro?

I am a highly educated 27 year-old female, and I am at a loss as to what to do with my extreme emotions.
How does one manage a burst of emotions so as to deal with the situation in an effective and calm manner? Specifically, I need advices on redirecting or channeling my anger and sadness in a way fast enough that I can still remain in the scenario (even more specifically, when in conflict with my mother)... but one that does not involve self-mutilation.

Employability Filter: Management Philosophy? Huh? I have an interview next week for a job I would really like to be offered...and they've told me they're going to ask me to articulate my management philosophy. I have never been in an official "management" position before and as such I've never had to articulate a philosophy about it. I have sort of a set of rules that I go by in the manage-y stuff that I do every day (keep people informed, set reasonable and clear goals, make people understand that there are consequences to actions, etc.), but I'm not entirely sure what the accepted way is of articulating these as a philosophy. Can someone who knows more about this sort of thing help a gal out?

I've noticed that some people have what I'm going to call "natural leadership"--that is, even if they're put into a situation where everyone is formally equal, they're the ones everyone looks to. I've been in countless such situations, and there's almost always been one person who was the one everyone else said to check with. I want to be that guy. What do I need to do to be that guy?

Brokenrelationshipfilter? Two weeks ago I found out that my girlfriend of a year had been seeing an acquaintance of my best friend for the past two months. They're over, and she told me, asking that we stay together. I'm not sure now if we're going to or not, but we agreed to six months more to see if we can make it work. I'm pissed, frankly, and she's suffering from horrible post-breakup depression; crying, insomnia, apathy, the works. I do, I believe, love her, but I'm having trouble seeing how we'll get through all the smoke in the air. I'm well aware that I'm the only one who can make this decision, but rationality isn't my strong point right now, and I could use some outside perspective.

I'm now managing my third startup, having successfully built and sold the first two. Nonetheless, despite my supposed expertise, I often have the sense that I'm totally faking it, completely flying blind.
Are there any good books on startup company management? All the entrepreneurship books I've found are exceedingly basic, and focus only on business plan writing / fundraising; conversely, all the standard management books seem tailored only to Fortune 500s.
Anything in between? A good book on how to manage a fast-growing (and, this time, non-tech) startup company day to day?

My apartment-mate has a rage problem. It used to be once a month or so he would have a tantrum that involved smashing dishes and lightbulbs, overturning furniture, tearing down posters, and ripping up papers. Lately it's gotten to be a weekly thing. I used to feel sympathetic and I talked with him about his problems, but I've lost my patience and I'm sick of being caught in this. Several of his friends have tried getting him to go see a college counselor but he won't go. If I could, I would just leave the apartment, but it's impossible until my contract is up in June. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting him to chill out when he's in the middle of a tantrum? Or any suggestions for convincing him to get counseling, try medication, anything?
