MagazineDistributionFilter: I used to buy the videogame magazine GameInformer at my local bookstores and magazine shops. I live in Montreal, Canada. I did this for years, going out during my lunchbreak and picking it up, then reading it on the bus home after work. Then, all of a sudden this past January, all the stores stopped getting it. I looked everywhere. All the big bookstores, all the magazine store chains. It was frankly, bizarre. The only place that still seemed to get it was EB Games, and they only got a few copies. I now subscribe to the magazine, but the question of why they would suddenly stop distributing to newsstands here has plagued me. Does anyone know?

About eight years ago, I read this article on some radical-leaning progressive website, about how the author had come to love Thanksgiving, despite originally viewing it as a celebration of mass murder.

When I was about 7 (1992ish) my parents got me a subscription to a magazine for left-handed people. The magazine opened backwards and contained stories and features about famous lefties. I tried Googling for it but have no idea what this magazine was or if it still exists. Anyone know anything about it?

I produce a YouTube show about media literacy/criticism. Right now we post weekly, on a schedule which is driving me insane. Does frequency of publishing new content matter (whether it's for a blog, a podcast, a comic, etc) so long as you publish regularly? Could I do it every other week or monthly without losing people's attention? And what do you suggest doing to help make up for less-frequent publishing?

I am receiving unsolicited magazine subscriptions along with billing statements. I have called the magazine offices to cancel the subscriptions. I am being told they have the subscription request card from me with my signature. I have requested copies of these cards from the magazine companies to see if I can discern who is responsible.
Sending them to me was ok but now they have added my wife to the game and I am no longer amused. If by chance I am able to identify the culprit, would anyone know if there is a legal recourse I could pursue to encourage them to stop?

I want to learn more about how Tyler Brulé got Wallpaper and then Monocle going. I read the great dialog on City of Sound about the design of Monocle online. But I am really interested in Brulé's move into publishing business and being a hands-on editor and taste-maker. Are there books, documentaries, or interview with him or his conspirators that explain how he made it in business? I am especially interested in the pivotal first year of Wallpaper and the first year after Time Warner bought him out.
