I often (upwards of 15 times a day) need to select some of the text within a cell or textbox in Excel, and format it bold and red. Not all the text in the cell/box -- just the text I select. Is it possible to write macros to do this task? And where should I go to find someone to write it? [more inside]
My wife loves taking tight photos of flowers, bees and other stuff of that scale. She's not really trying to do true macro photography and I'm not entirely confident that she'd have the patience to deal with a complicated DSLR. I know that all the new point and shoots out there are capable enough to do closeup work and this question has been covered in previous years but I'm wondering if there are any standouts in the late 2014 camera lineup. I have discovered the joy of taking photos of teensy, tiny things - like baby snails! - and would like to move beyond my cellphone's camera. Since this is a hobby, not a new career path, I'd like to spend as little as possible, and definitely remain well-under $1,000 (CAD), while getting great results. Any advice? I need to be able to buy this camera in Canada, please! [more inside]

I have a 100-page Word document full of miscellaneous content from different websites. Unfortunately, after each section taken from a website, there's basically a citation for where the content was taken from that contains the URL for the website. I need to find a way to find all these hyperlinks and delete them completely from my document. They're all from different websites, so really, the only commonality is the "http://" part.
Is there a simple way to assign a keyboard shortcut to a macro in Access 2007? I understand that macros behave differently in Access than they do in Excel (which I'm more familiar with). Firefox / WIN7: I type in two hyphens IE -- and word processor (LibreOffice Writer) changes them into M dash IE – which is what I would love to see happen in Firefox. Alternately, if this cannot be done, is there a simple way to do this with some sort of macro on my puter? Plus, hey, while we're here, can we turn three periods IE ... into an ellipsis IE … ? I need a lens for low-light, hand-held, food photography on my Canon 40D. I will be renting the lens so cost is not an issue and prefer only one lens instead of swapping them out. I will be taking pictures in restaurants during actual meals so dishes must be fully framed from the seated position. No tripod, no flashes, no standing up, no trickery. What would you recommend?

Using various relatively cheap adaptors, zoom lenses and lens-reversal rings (the greatest thing that ever happened to Nikon dSLRs!), I had fun taking lots of pictures of really tiny things with my previous cameras. However, now I have a Sony NEX-5k which, for its wonderful optics, great features and excellent resolution doesn't seem to have anything that I can find to do the same type of work. Can anyone recommend a hack or accessory that will let me take more pics like those I used to (or even of smaller things!)?
