I just noticed that the clock on my Macbook Pro (running 10.9) is wrong, and when I went into Settings to see what is going on, I realized in the automatic time zone setting that my Macbook thinks it is in Alaska. Also, when I look up my computer in Find My iPhone, it too shows it being in Alaska. I am in Virginia. I have never been to Alaska. What is going on?

I’m trying to get Adobe Photoshop CS3 on Snow Leopard to show me the colors I expect. I’m using it to do some basic color selection, which will ultimately be pasted into a Python script that generates data graphics for use on the web. Part of my workflow involves screen captures from a browser that get round-tripped through Photoshop and into code, so I need basic RGB hex values to stay consistent through the process. Neither mac supports Thunderbolt; both have MiniDisplayPort connectors. I want to run the iMac in Target Display Mode as a second display for the MacBook Pro. Can I make this happen? [more inside]
I just installed Minecraft on my MacBook Pro, and it is working fine except that at night (in the game) it is pitch black. It is pretty much impossible to see anything but stars and sand. This obviously makes navigation hazardous. According to a friend who is familiar with the game, it is not supposed to be that dark. [more inside]

Why does iTunes hate me? Not me specifically, but my iMac G4? Twice in the past month, I have had to wait as my entire iTunes library loads, as if it is loading for the very first time. iMac G4, 1GHz, 1.5Ghz SDRAM, OS 10.5.8. iTunes 9.1.1 just installed. 235Gb music files on 750Gb USB external drive. I found an archive of old mail I got in the late 90's using Outlook Express 4 (OE4). The files are in .mbx format, not in .dbx (and certainly not in standard mbox). Opening the files in an hex editor allows me to view the content of those mailboxes. Is there anyway to convert that mail archive into something more usable for Mac OS X (or Linux)? [more inside]

While talking to my friend, who was using gchat in gmail on a Mac, suddenly her keyboard started acting up. It didn't work it gchat, did work in rmails in gmail, and the kezboard is messed up for other things++ (y is swapped with z, and all sorts of other things.) The strange part is, she doesn't even know how she did it. Any Mac gurus have anz ideas_ (any ideas?) Particularly useful would be how to reverse the change...
I am a Mac owner who bought Hazel, an application that will do a number of different tasks to your files based on certain rules. (Think of it as Outlook rules for your Mac desktop.) However, I've really found myself stumped as to what to do with it, and it's basically just been sitting on my machine unused. If you have it, what do you do with it? If you don't have it or have a Windows machine, do you have any good ideas for rule logic, or automated rules, to apply to files on your desktop, anyway? Looks like it'll auto-run AppleScripts and Unix shell scripts, too. Basically looking to tap other people's minds on this one since my own seems to be balking at this particular mental problem. Thanks. [more inside]
