I have a PCI-E SSD as my boot drive, and a win7-created RAID 1 on two 3TB drives. My boot drive has my user folder on it, but my documents, music, pictures, videos, etc folders shortcut to their respectable folders on the RAID. I would like this to be a full redundancy scheme and it is, but I've run into several nags and I would like to know how to fix them and prepare a fix-it plan before any of the drives fails.

I need to restore a Mac OS X hard drive. My target volume is 300GB. My source volume is a sparse image from a 500GB drive with only 179GB used, but of course, Disk Utility is looking at the total space on the volumes, not the used space. Is there any way to force this operation, modify the volume size of the sparse image, or do this in any way that will be less painful than reinstalling all my apps and settings from scratch?

I've had my Powerbook G4 for just a touch under 3 years and i've aquired a healthy amount of personal files, photos, music, and work documents. Last night i had a scare with the drive, it failed to boot for the first time since i've had it. Feeling a tad twitchy about the reliability of my drive i ask: Is there a automated backup solution thats flexable enough for me...

I have two identical PowerMac G5s and a single copy of Mac OS X Server. One is a file server for small network. The other exists in case something happens to the first one. Through what mechanism can I keep the contents of these two systems in sync, whether constantly, every few hours, or nightly?
