We had a power outage for about 3 hours yesterday evening, and when I restarted my Mac mini, I could not connect to the internet. Our wireless modem/router is working fine, as our other Mac (an ancient PowerBook g4) and my phone can both go online using wifi. Please help! More things we've tried below:

Our classroom lcd projector was left on for too long and the lens was burned, according to our tech. This makes everything it projects have a yellowish tinge. Is there any way to adjust the output on a mac mini to compensate for this?

I'm consolidating and trying to save some money in the coming years.
To that end I've acquired an older Mac Mini and pulled out an old monitor. I've set it as a working media center, but I think I could do more and do it more efficiently.

How do I go about logging in, remotely and with something like VNC, to Mac OSX, while also (at the same time) using the computer locally as a different user? Is this possible? Is there a different way to do this? (I already have ssh all set up, if that'll help.)

I have an Intel Mac mini using a wireless WPA connection to connect to a router which is connected to the Internet. The wireless connectivity works relatively well. However, once it gets disconnected, even if the signal may be lost just temporarily, Mac OS just "gives up" at trying to reconnect. How do I make Mac OS try and try again to reconnect to the wireless network once it has been disconnected?

Macmini alternatives. I was considering purchasing a Mac Mini to make it a relatively inexpensive home media center, but after upgrading the hard drive to 80GB, adding Bluetooth for a wireless keyboard & mouse, buying the wireless keyboard & mouse, adding 802.11g for home networking, etc the $499 price tag was closer to $850 or more. Can anyone recommend a Windows box manufacturer who makes small form factor PCs for this kind of application?
