GSM tetherering cell phone for Mac

I need to buy a new cell phone. It should have a text keyboard, work with a higher-speed EDGE/GSM network and most of all sync (address & calendar) + act as a bluetooth modem for my Powerbook. That last bit is a problem apparently: I am having trouble finding good actual info on which phones can do this. [more inside]

Waking up: alarm clock advice for the undisciplined.

Two-part question about waking up: I'm looking for something that functions like the iPod alarm clock (but without having to own an iPod) or better yet, this "peaceful progression wake-up clock." The catch is I'm kind of a cheapskate, and have no idea whether an expensive alarm clock will really help me wake up earlier & more easily. (Secondly, any good advice on how to drag myself out of bed in the morning is more than welcome, too!) [more inside]

Dance games for the Macintosh?

Inspired by this question and a whim, I'm considering dance games as a possible path to improved fitness. I have a modern Macintosh, but no PC and no game consoles. Though I can't find any commercial dance games for the Mac, I have found StepMania. Based on this info, what is my best option? Should I buy a console, a dance game, and dance pad? Can somebody recommend a good Mac-compatible dance pad? Are there other inexpensive solutions? This really sounds like a fun way to exercise, but I don't know where to start.

Is there a Mac utility that will allow remapping of the entire keyboard?

I've been looking for a one-hand keyboard. I've tried the Frogpad but the learning curve proved to be too high. I was looking for a solution that would essentially 'mirror' the right side of the keyboard to the keys on the left when a modifier key was pressed (the G key would be modified to H, F to J, etc.). Why doesn't iMovie import my mpg?

iMovie question: I have not used iMovie much, but I'd like to play around. I have a Sony DSC-P100 digital point-and-shoot camera that records video, which I can save to my computer as mpg. However, I can't seem to use these files in iMovie. Does that sound right, or is there something wrong with my copy of iMovie, or what? I can find nothing in the iMovie help that describes what file formats may be imported.
