I have a MacBook running OS X 10.6.8 and a Brother HL-2270DW printer. This morning I had to reset my entire system using Time Machine; everything else is up and running, but the printer doesn't work. I've tried reinstalling it with the printer setup disc, but the laptop won't detect our wireless connection when I get to that step (it suggests disabling my personal firewall, but I don't have one set up.), and the laptop won't let me add any printers in System Preferences. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated, because I've spent all afternoon trying to figure this out.

I've replaced an aging iMac with 3 external drives hanging off of it with a Macbook Pro with the same 3 external drives hanging off of it.
The setup also includes a cable modem and a Time Capsule.
Right now the drives are in daisychained Firewire mode.
I'm looking for a way to connect the drives to my wifi network so I can eliminate the need to plug the first drive into the laptop? Staying with Firewire would be nice, but it's not a deal breaker.

Quite suddenly, my modem works if I plug it into a machine, but not when I plug it into an Airport Express. Comcast says it's not their fault. Any idea what's going on? Every detail I can think of is inside.

I want to wirelessly control basic transport functions in my recording software without using an internet-based network or buying a Frontier Tranzport. Specifically, I'd like to use my iPhone 3G to connect to a local network that I will create, including a Mac G4 with OS 10.4.x and an Intel G5 with 10.4.11. How do I do this?

I came home yesterday to find that we've now got internet in our house - great. The only problem is, though I'm able to get a perfect signal in the sitting room, which is where the wireless router is situated, if I go the five metres or so from there to my bedroom, the connection rapidly deteriorates to the point that I can't even open Metafilter.
I'm running a Macbook with a fully-udated version of Tiger, so what gives?

Does anyone have any idea as to why a Macbook Pro or a laptop running WinXP could see a wireless network broadcast from an old Netgear (802.11b network) but two different laptops running Vista would not even see that the network exists?
The SSID is being broadcast and while there is basic MAC address filtering being used, the Vista laptops don't even see that a network exists.
Thanks.

I have an Intel Mac mini using a wireless WPA connection to connect to a router which is connected to the Internet. The wireless connectivity works relatively well. However, once it gets disconnected, even if the signal may be lost just temporarily, Mac OS just "gives up" at trying to reconnect. How do I make Mac OS try and try again to reconnect to the wireless network once it has been disconnected?
