How do I carry around all my stuff with grace and avoid looking stupid?
I carry around a lot of stuff everyday, and it's extremely annoying. People are always commenting about how I have "so many bags" but I really am not sure how to streamline my stuff. [more inside]

In October we're going travelling around western Europe by train for several weeks and I need to buy some kind of luggage. I had thought that a ~35-45 litre backpack would be about right, sizewise and for portability. But I've heard from people with direct experience that pickpockets are a big problem in several of the places we're going and that makes backpacks a bad idea. So what kind of luggage should I use that will be reasonable to carry around but still secure given we're changing locations (and thus hotels) regularly. [more inside]

- A main suitcase that will go in the hold, so weight/size not so important. What features should I be looking out for? I figure wheels are a must, but what sort of wheels?
- A piece of hand baggage (carry-on). Here I'm torn between a rucksack/backpack and a messenger bag. What are the best brands of each, and which should I choose?
I'm going to be backpacking around the EU for a couple weeks. I've got my trip all planned out, but I lack one thing: a good backpack! I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a backpack. List of criteria inside: [more inside]

I would like to know a superior form of backpack. It should be primarily appropriate for day to day backpack and school usage but also useful for light travel use or light camping use. I am ~6'4", usually weigh about 185 pounds, and male. [more inside]

My wife and I are starting to plan our 1 month+ trip to Europe for this upcoming summer and I was wondering if anybody could recommend a comfortable, compact, relatively inexpensive backpack. We are going to be packing pretty light, as we will only have one bag each, and it needs to be small enough for carry-on luggage.
