... and I want to do both at the same time. Where can I find recipes for food that - is geared towards beginners (not too much prep time, not too many ingredients) - has calorie counts per serving/weight - is not always red meat or grain-heavy - and doesn't require an oven? (I only have a microwave and two heating elements.) [more inside]
I eat low-carb. No beans, no fruit, no lentils or quinoa or chickpeas. Instead, I eat LOTS of protein, fats, generally with salads. But I worry I eat too much meat, and I getting sick of salad, so I am looking for great vegetable recipes that are under 8 carbs a serving. [more inside]
I've switched over to keto (very low carb, moderate protein, high fat) eating and it's awesome, but I miss the flexibility of starches when it comes to haven't-shopped-in-two-weeks-what-are-we-going-to-eat dinners. Can you give me your ideas for keto-friendly meals that use quickly-defrostable frozen or otherwise storable ingredients? [more inside]
Comforting, hearty vegetable recpies OR good veggie snacks for carrying around with me Difficulty level: Low starch vegetables only please [more inside]
Due to an impulse purchase at Costco, we have more mild/sweet Italian sausages than I know what to do with. I wanted a couple-few to stuff mushrooms and eat for lunch, and now we have enough to feed the entire neighborhood (which I would do if there were room to invite them over, but there's not). So please, give me your best recipes and ideas for Italian sausage! And your second-best, and third-best... Difficulty: no pasta, bread, or poratoes because we're eating low-carb for medical reasons.
What are your favorite recipes that fulfill the following criteria: low in carbohydrates, lots of good fats, medium to generous on the fiber, and filling/hearty? I'm thinking veggies, soups, and sides, mostly, since that's where my recipe book is weakest. [more inside]

I'm looking for some different sauces for ground beef, my intention being to serve the mixture in whole roasted peppers, or lettuce wraps, sloppy joes, or some kind of creative lasagna. The only sauce I know for ground beef is the run-of-the-mill tomato sauce. I feel like other sauces for ground beef would be wierd, but there must be some good ones. Suggestions?
I am responsible for feeding about 15 adults dinner on a car camping adventure next month. I always default to "foil dinners" in situations like this, but thought perhaps this time I should try something different and am looking for new ideas. [more inside]

Doctor's orders, sadly. Does anyone know of any low carb cookbooks or websites (or just individual recipes) that would take the sting out of giving up my precious carbs? If there was a Cook's Illustrated low carb cookbook that would be perfect, but there isn't.

Help my sanity - share your grainless vegetarian recipes! I can't tolerate any grains, rice, oat, barley, wheat, corn, quinoa, etc. This means that traditional "gluten free" replacements are out of the question. I'm starting to hit the wall in terms of being able to deal with it, and I need some variety in my diet! Right now, I'm avoiding eating because it's so disheartening, and I want the joy back in meal times. A sample of what I eat currently under the fold. [more inside]
