I just finished Matt Ruff's Lovecraft Country (verdict: pretty good, although it's more a set of linked short stories than a novel), and I read (or rather listened to) Victor LaVelle's The Ballad of Black Tom earlier this year (verdict: very good, but too short), and I'm looking for other fiction (preferably novels) that build on Lovecraft's influence but also addresses racism. A while back I randomly downloaded this image, very possibly from a Metafilter thread, without noting the name of the artist. Anyway, I recently posted it to Facebook and one of my friends wants to know who the artist is as he's pretty sure he went to school with the guy ... but he forgets his name. Any ideas?

How do you make that melty, Lovecraftian font? I've seen it in several threads on the Blue, but for the life of me can't find one now (searched Lovecraft, searched font...man that was a long search.) [more inside]

I'm retooling my Arkham Horror game-board as a vertical, wall-mounted surface, so that I'll actually have room in my apartment for people to play without spending part of their turn sitting out in the hall. Help me figure out the best way to do this effectively, affordably, and awesomely. [more inside]

I recently bought the Laundry series by Charles Stross and thanks to that and Artw's constant efforts to encourage the stars to come right I'm really jonesing for some Call of Cthulhu/Delta Green action. It's been a loooong time since I've had any chance or time for roleplaying and I'm so far out of the loop I'm in non-euclidean space... [more inside]

This is a bit of a follow up to this question. I'm contemplating a small comics project staring a fictionalised version of HP Lovecraft (something I've done before but thsi will be slight higher profile) and the title will be something along the lnes of "H.P. Lovecraft's World of Weirdness". Is the use of his name in the title like that, which might imply some kind of authorship or endorsement or somesuch, likely to bring the Lovecraft estate down on me like a ton of bricks?
