I was with my ex-wife for a long, long time. She cheated; we separated and ultimately got an easy divorce. We’ve each moved on, and I’m close to proposing to my girlfriend after about two years together. We’re a great pair. But I often feel unanchored, cast about by the knowledge that nothing lasts forever. Am I doing it wrong? Other divorced folks (esp. those on the dumped side)—what’s the path forward?

Got infatuated with co-worker. She is getting married this Saturday. Strangely I don't feel jealous and I am genuinely happy for her. This is strange to me as it contradicts all my previous experiences. That is excellent but what is the catch? Is it possible that some kind of delayed catastrophe will happen?

"God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys has the best opening line to a love song:
I may not always love you. Can you think of any other love songs that have the same vibe of: "I really hope this lasts, but I can't make or ask for promises."

I'm in a relationship that is the best I've ever had (and in some ways the only serious one I've ever had), but it's still not that amazing. Do I abandon my notions that there is someone better out there and give this a real shot or do I just need to accept that being single forever is better than being in a not quite right relationship? (so very long inside...)

My roommate is a pretty heavy drinker and smoker and he spends his Saturday nights passed out on the love seat in the den. His feet extend over the arm of the love seat. He sleeps on his back and I'm concerned that the pressure on his leg from the arm of the seat could cause a blood clot. Is this a real danger? Example of his position

This would be a fairly standard 'how do I make friends' question, except I know the reason I can't. Lack of social skills, not liking normal socialising exercises (e.g. parties), and living miles from anywhere are part of it, but before I get to those problems I have this one: I don't like anybody. Seriously, this is an even bigger problem than people not liking me.

Did she just take the easy way out or am I just that guy? About 8 months ago I started talking to a girl I have known for many years. She is 7 years younger than me and I never noticed her until boom she magically grew up. I always thought she was a loser ( hung around with the wrong crowd made bad choices). We began talking every so often then it turned into a daily ritual txt, fb, and phone call situation once she got rid of her BF. I slowly began to develop feelings and we started hangin out when....

I'm looking for a short (1-2 minute) humorous wedding reading. Ideally, it's from a well-known/classic author (Mark Twain, Jonathan Swift, etc.). I'm specifically hoping to find a bit of wit, and perhaps even a little snark, but still with a happy/warm tone. The topic could be love, weddings, marriage, men & women, or anything along those lines.
The key is to have some lightness and humor in it.
