In the show
LOST, a character who was previously paralyzed regains full motor skills due (presumably) to the plane crash. Is this possible, or has this ever happened?

Finding lost money filter. I was the executor for my Dads estate. The bulk of the work was done long ago, but I'm getting contacted by a company that says they know about some money still in his name. What can I do to find these funds myself?

LOSTfilter: I found a great link last week but (argh) didn't bookmark it. It's several animated gifs/screen caps from the show LOST on ABC. All of the pics show weird flying black things. One set on the beach, and one from the jungle that actually flys up and stops in front of the camera. Am I crazy, or has anyone else seen these?

I don't watch
Lost, but I was wondering: Has anything comparable ever actually happened? Has there ever been a historical instance where several people were stranded in the wilderness for a long and indeterminate period of time and had to make do? The more recent the better, but I'm interested in anything (I've already heard the story of Andrew Selkirk, the "real life" Robinson Crusoe).

LostWalletFilter: I was at a bar last night and left my wallet on a table in a fit of brilliance. I went back to the bar this morning and got it back, but a few things are missing. Should I worry or take any preventative action?

I am looking for answers about why some people, like myself, have little to no sense of direction. I have always had this problem and know others in the same situation. Conversely, there are those you seem to naturally know how to get around where ever they are. Is there a scientific reason for this. I call it being directionally challenged. Causes great angst in unfamiliar places. For those of you in the same boat what suggestions do you have for staying grounded, etc.

My (old) sysadmin in what could only be described as a hissy fit deleted my entire account one friday night. Along with all my emails and other stuff went the only copy I had of
AvantSlash. This is rather unfortunate, since I maintain it! Can you help me find a copy of v3.0 or 3.1?

Entire drive crashed and lost all the data it contained. We've used lots of programs so far and managed to recover music, photos and movies that are less than 20. We are looking to recover movies that are over 20 but not having much luck. There are tons of really expensive programs but we don't want to shell out w/o some sort of idea how they work or if they are effective. HELP!

My sister had the worst travel experience the other day, resulting in an airline losing her carry-on bag. Her carry-on! She's been playing mad phone-tag with ambivalent airline personnel, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience or advice that would help her. [mi, natch]

In episode 3 of Lost (which, by the way, rocks my cock) there's a nice, kinda mellow song that plays at the end of the episode. Does anybody know who it was? My Googling has brought me nowhere.

I lost my car keys Saturday. I remember walking out of the van, patting my pockets, and thinking "huh. Must have tossed them in my bag." Checked later and no keys.

Win XP pword issue. I'm locked out of my laptop. I don't use it often, and the password expired - it was set to 30 days. Being an idiot, I didn't make written note of the admin password anywhere. Multiple guesses have so far yielded me nothing. I found
this site but haven't tried it yet, since I have no access to the Win 2000 cd.

I'm looking for a product that performs the same function as the "page" button on my cordless landline. Press a button on the base, and the lost phone starts beeping until you find it. Ideally this is something small enough to attach to objects like keychains, remote controls, wallets, small digicams (RFID?). Anybody ever heard of anything like this?
