What can I do in the short term to feel better while losing weight when everything seems to make me gassy, swollen and uncomfortable? My doctor's answer to everything seems to be "Lose weight!". That's not going to help these problems in the moment. TMI descriptions follow...

I'm losing focus on my weight loss goals and I don't want to fall off the wagon. I have had to fight hard to lose what I have lost, and I do not want to back track. How do you get your head back in the game and really find the time to focus on it and prioritize it when your life has become extremely busy?

I have been overweight all my life, as has all of my family. I have noticed that as we age, get sick, and eventually die, between the sick and die part they get skinny! So each time I lose weight and look at myself I look like a cancer patient waiting to die and I gain it back. I've talked to a counselor who did a lot of hmmm and mmms which was too expensive to repeat. Any ideas how to fix my psyche and eventually fix my physique?

If you have a tendency to gain weight due to stress I'd like to know how you recognized this was THE reason for weight gain and found a solution that worked for you. Please don't ask questions that tend to speculate or diagnose the cause of weight gain (no issues with food/exercise) . I want to hear from you if you (or someone you knew) struggled to keep your stress low, which you knew led to your weight gain and how you went about it (without using any drugs!).

I recently lost some weight but am struggling to accept my body changes, specifically smaller boobs. I just lost about five pounds, so not much at all. But it seems like its all gone from my chest, I have lost a solid two cups sizes just due to the five pound weight loss.

I have about a month to lose 5-10 lbs for an upcoming wedding that requires me to wear a dress that does not fit and cannot be altered. Normally I'd cut back on calories and just go running a lot, but I've been rendered unable to run or elliptical or bike due to an Achilles injury that I don't want to worsen. What dietary things and other workout things can I do during this time to ensure weight loss? In my twenties, no health problems, no dietary restrictions, reeeally need to fit into this god forsaken dress.

So I've lost a little over 10 or so pounds in the past 3 weeks. I know its not water weight because it has stayed off. I've been dieting. I was originally 215 or so pounds and now I"m about 205.
The problem is I'm not seeing any physical results as of yet, at least not that I can tell.
Is this normal? I'm a 6'5" male.

A good friend is attempting to do a fasting/exercise regime where her main goal is to lose 1-2 pounds per day for at least 2 weeks by not eating anything and doing a lot of cardio everyday. I have personally (and constantly) argued against this as it is clearly unhealthy but she seems to be set on doing this. What can I do or recommend so that she doesn't cause serious damage to her body?

What is the fastest way to lose fat? I am looking for the probably impractical ways that are too hard for most people to stick to. I imagine eating nothing and exercising a lot is even slower fat loss than eating 500 calories a day. So what would an optimal (fastest) fat loss regimen look like? (purely to satisfy my curiosity, not for practical or real use)

What would be useful about weightwatchers online: the fact of having committed to tracking your weight and being more conscious about what you're eating each day -- being forced to acknowledge the program you've set for yourself, instead of just letting it slip away like most good intentions.
But. The recipes and points etc. are not for me. I want to eat my own things, not their version of "banana bread" or low fat chicken recipes or whatever. I know *how* to lose weight in terms of food choices. I just want a support or tracking system.
Does this exist?

I'm currently on a low carbohydrate weight loss diet, I am in a mild state of ketosis. I have been losing weight at a moderate pace and doing well. I just started taking antibiotics (500 mg of amoxicillin 3 times daily for one week) in preparation for a root canal I'm having next tuesday.
Multiple sources on the internet are telling me that taking antibiotics can stall weight loss. Is this true? I really don't understand how this would work. I really hope it's not!

My fiancee, who is 5' 3" and used to weigh about 125 pounds, has recently lost her appetite and I'm starting to worry about her. In the past six months she has lost 10-15 pounds and is never hungry. Although she never ate much to begin with, I have noticed a big decline in how much she now eats. She also seems to be sleeping excessively and doesn't have much energy. I know that she recently started taking Celexa to treat anxiety, but could it really cause such drastic changes? Are there any alternatives that she could ask her doctor about?
