I'm looking for a recently released album that was actually recorded in the 70s but was only released now. The name was something like Torrey Canyon, Torrey Pines, Laurel Canyon (but Google is not helping me here), any ideas? I really wanted to listen to it but it's looking like I have the name completely wrong.
I believe I originally heard about it on Metafilter.
I do not have lyrics, because I haven't heard it!
Note: it is not Torrey Canyon LTD, from Kent, OH.

Looking for a cello teacher in Los Angeles for a beginner. Or is there a string instrument instructor you know who might recommend a cello instructor or a cello player who might want to earn a few bucks, or bargain his or her time? [more inside]

I want to move to LA and try to "make it." What are some general (or specific) things my young, naive, optimistic self should know before embarking on this adventure?

I'm passing through LA next week, and would like to indulge my jpop/jrock habit. Any recommendations for downtown music stores? I'll be at 2nd/Olive, near the Civic Center. I'm interested in CDs and t shirts; not interested in anime or games. Arigato gozaimasu!

I am in the last semester of my undergraduate years, and am facing the prospect of 'real life' in a few months. I live in Los Angeles and am planning on pursuing music and screenwriting as a career, but obviously will need to work to support myself while I pursue these unlikely options. I am wondering what suggestions people have as to what jobs would pay a living wage relatively quickly without much experience...[more inside] [more inside]
