My wife, as a very small child, lived in Ealing and claims to remember a swimming pool with a giant glass wall so you could watch people diving into it from the side.
Have you heard of anything like this?

On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being "very safe" and with going-to-11 being "the most crazy," how insane is it to try to get into London from Heathrow to do some light sightseeing on my way back home to the US. (I've read the previous questions, but needed some clarification about some of the issues!)

Where can I buy a cheapish, probably refurbished laptop in London, UK? My crummy old HP finally gave up the ghost and I need a replacement like, yesterday. Ordering online is out of the question - I'd like to walk into a store tomorrow and come home with something. Any recommended places in Central / East where I can get a bargain, or at least not get ripped off? Thanks.

UK Art Supply filter: I'm an artist in New York, ordering supplies for a project that I will be doing in London next week. I'm trying to order online from UK-based websites as much as possible and have the supplies delivered to the work site, rather than shipping from the US. There are a few things that I'm having a hard time finding... particularly certain kinds of
tape.

Often I want to go from Southampton UK to Islington. The public transportation system in London is awesome! There must be a better way than the white-knuckle drive through the city I currently do...
Given that I want to do the first leg of the trip via car, I expect there is somewhere in SW London I can park and take public transportation, and get to Islington relatively quickly (~1 hour) and cheaply. I've played around with Google maps, and there are a bajillion options.... anyone know one that is near optimal? Ideally with free/cheap parking, and outside the congestion fee zone.
