I'd like to work in London but I have no idea where to start! I'm a British citizen, age 30, but I've grown up in Australia. I'm looking for any kind of work that pays the bills. Policy work would be especially nice (I have some experience there) but temping/office jobs would be fine too. Can you recommend me some agencies and websites where I can start, and also any other hints and tips for first-timers to the London/UK job market!
Thank you!

So
this (US union staffer returning to London and looking for a job) was me. Since then I've found a job opening that's absolutely perfect... but I need to fill out a UK style application form, and having spent my whole career in the US, I need some advice.

UK (and especially London) folks, where should a returning US labor union staffer work in the UK? I’ll be returning to London (location non-negotiable) early next year after almost ten years in the US. I left the UK soon after I graduated (I’ve never held a career job there), and I’ve worked as a labor union staffer in the US, working my way up to positions with a good deal of strategic and management responsibility, but I'm absolutely open to a change...

I got funded to do an MA in London, but I still don't know how I'm going to afford it. What jobs could I do that will allow me to study and live without insane financial stress?

I just got offered a Work Experience placement at a big publishing firm in London - but it starts on Monday, and I live in Derbyshire. I need two weeks' accommodation for ideally around £300 or less. Help!

I've recently completed a PhD in the UK and will be applying for a Tier 1 Post-Study Work visa. I need to do this in person and it needs to be done by the end of next week but I can't get an appointment online and the Home Office advice line is unable to provide any further information. Help?

My life sucked, so I moved to the opposite side of the world. I'm a former mid-weight graphic designer in London, and I need a new non-design job. What should I do for a crust?

Most of the questions I've read so far were made by people moving from NY to London, but I am considering the opposite, so I'd like to ask for some opinions to help me make a decision. I am a Brazilian-Italian girl, 26 and have been living in London for the past five years.

Can anyone recommend a temping/job agency in London? Also, any advice on how to approach finding a job when you're a new graduate with zero work experience (and a crummy degree) would be gratefully received.

There's a new art exhibition in London showing works of art taken from people's workplaces, for example, sketches by particle physicists. Unfortunately I can't remember what it's called or anything else about it. Can anyone shed light on this, and if so, have you been to it?
