Trying to get inspired here. What are your favorite political candidate signs/logos that you have remembered or noticed? Can you link me or describe them? Democrat/Libertarian/Republican... color scheme doesn't matter here, just looking for a clean, solid "political" feel.

I know this sounds strange, but I'm working on an article about Jewish logo designers, and I haven't been able to determine if Terry Heckler (responsible for the original Starbucks logo) is Jewish. Any mefites out there know him personally (or been to a seder with him?), who could answer the question for me?

I saw a sporty compact type of car today with a logo I didn't recognize. It looked like an angular "m" inside of an oval shape. I would describe it as a cross between a batman symbol and an infinity logo. The body style was a sleek, aggressive, sporty design - not cheap, but not too high end. If I guessed, I would have thought it was a like a Scion Tc or Mazda 3. At first I thought it might be a Tesla. I can't recall if it was a coupe or sedan. Any ideas?

I'm designing a logo that will incorporate five letter C's, either with the gaps facing inward (like a flower, like this
) or out (like a star, roughly like this
). The thing is, I know I've seen other examples of each of these shapes before and I want to avoid copying something already trademarked... but I honestly can't remember what they are and am having trouble searching. Can anyone point me to ones you're familiar with?

I'm fascinated by old union logos, especially the iconic IBEW (fist-and-lightning-bolts
), Teamsters (two horses
) and IWW (globe
) insignia. I like the heraldic layouts, the modern-as-of-1920 visual style, and the heroic/futuristic/quasi-mystical iconography. You see similar features in Masonic iconography, logos for other fraternal orders (Lions
, the FOP
) and in some older corporate logos (MGM
, the old American Airlines
logo, Does this cluster of design features have a name? Where did it come from? What are some other good examples? [more inside]

I run a freelance design business and I've been working with a small, 3-person finance company on their logo. I delivered the last contracted round of revisions yesterday and the client has more changes, but rather than paying for a few more hours, they are requesting to make changes on their end, even though they are not designers or even in a creative field. How to manage this stickiness? [more inside]

What free promotional items have you received that you still have around and use many months later? Good examples: I have on my desk a ballpoint pen from my orthodontist about ten years after I last saw her - a small notepad with a calendar on the back of it from 2011 that I was sent with a charity solicitation - an insulated coffee mug from my local shop that I use often. Bad: squeeze balls, anything flimsy or disposable. [more inside]

I need a visual metaphor or pun: something that shows "break for sense." What object or symbol can be taken apart, or decomposed, and then reveals something new? Ideally can be shown fairly simply, in an abstracted way. [more inside]

I need to order cardboard boxes for shipping products. Approximately 24″x20″x10″. They need to have my company's logo printed on them in black ink. They should be a basic brown box. We'd need 500 or 1000 at a time, probably.
I see that there's quite a few places to order them online — BoxGeek, CustomerBoxes Now, etc — with varying prices. Ordering through them without a recommendation would be somewhat of a crapshoot, though.
Does anyone have a good recommendation of a company they've worked with before? The size of the box isn't set in stone — if it's cheaper to go with a similar but different size, that's OK.

I have a logo in both .ai and .eps formats. It looks mostly right when placed into a comp, but part of it has a solid white background behind it.
However, when I directly open either of the files in Illustrator, a large portion of the image is missing. It seems like the portion that's missing may well be the section with the white background. [more inside]

I think they used a 3d model of the building, to create profile shots of different angles, thereby providing different logos for different occasions Im desperately looking for this presentation or logo.
Anyone? [more inside]
