So I'm living Chico, a great bicycle town, and I got my treasured cruiser (over 6' long, black & cream, whitewall tires) out of storage. Bike theft and vandalism is a pretty big problem here, and I was wondering what people are using to lock their bikes in the wake of the Kryptonite lock
issues. Bonus points for something that doesn't make my cruiser much heavier than it already is.

I have a home with old school door handles on the bathroom/bedroom doors. It's the push button type lock with no lock on the outside, or even screws on the handle. How would I open this up without breaking down the door? [more inside]

My workplace has just instituted a system wide policy that locks machines after 5 minutes of inactivity, I monitor many machines, relogging in constantly is a pain. Does anyone know of a way to generate random mouse movements every minute or so or some other way of defeating this "security"?

My father wrote a document years back of memories of his (now deceased) college roommate and their Berkely debauchery. Now that (Word 6.0) file says it's password protected, though he suspects it's just corrupted. Li'l help? (More inside on what I've tried so far.) [more inside]

Is it safe to leave your house key in the lock on the inside of your door? I always do this so I know where my keys are, but I've always wondered if doing so makes it easier for the lock to be bypassed by ill-intentioned citizens. Should I store my keys somewhere else?
