So my friend's girlfriend has had autoimmune hepatitis and primary schlerosing cholingitis, but with normal bloodwork. They recently found her spleen had enlarged. I know this is caused by either portal hypertension or high iron levels... but is there anything else to consider in terms of either cause or prognoisis. What should she do from here on out or watch for?

On Friday I got a call from my primary care physician saying that my HCV AB EIA QL (Hepatitis C) test result came back reactive. The same test in August 2011 was nonreactive. I am waiting for the referral to the GI department to be processed so I can find out what happens next. In the meantime I'm freaking out.

I have two weeks off for christmas and I would like to use that time to do a very effective liver, colon, kidney cleanse. Can someone please give me a detailed plan including which order to do the cleanses; I've heard to do kidneys before liver so you can properly flush. I'm interested in what my meals should look like (juice fast, master cleanse, raw foods) as well as what supplements are helpful to expel crap from my guts. My goal is not weightloss. I tend to breakout in rashes after meals and I plan to slowly reintroduce foods after the cleanse to gauge what foods I have negative reactions to. It might be relevant to mention that I eat fish and eggs and cheese but no other animal products. Thanks for all your help.

I've had insulin resistance and PCOS for about 8 years now. I've been on metformin off and on for most of that time. My lab results this week show elevated liver enzymes, which means I have to stop the metformin. But it also showed elevated blood sugars over the last 3 months, which means I have to get the sugars better controlled. Since I can't take the metformin right now, I have to try to manage this with diet. I have no idea what to eat. Can you help?
