looking for your best restaurants in or around little rock lets say within a reasonable distance of little rock -- like an hour-ish radius

so far my favorite places in LR are...

BBQ: simms
pizza: damgood pies
fish: flying fish (near river market)

i am a big fan of hole in the wall places as long as they are good, and am particularly looking for a good hamburger and italian places, but like i said i am willing to try just about any kind of place!

Suggestions for Memphis, Nashville, and Little Rock -- what to do and where to stay..

My wife and I are taking a trip to Memphis, Nashville, and Little Rock next week.. Need help on what to do and where to stay.. Planning on flying into Memphis and heading straight to Nashville for 1-2 nights.. On Sunday, head back to Memphis. Spend Monday in Little Rock, at the Clinton Library and perhaps other suggested places, and then spend Tuesday in Memphis before returning home that evening.

Comments? What should we do besides the obvious -- Graceland, seeing the Grand 'ole Oprey..? Where should we stay? Is it worth spending the money to be downtown so we can enjoy the nightlife and have a few drinks and not worry about driving? Wife and I -- we're in our 20s.. Friday - Tuesday.

What is the current racial composition of Little Rock Central High School? I'm most interested in public records and scholarly studies of the degree of integration and de facto segregation in Little Rock, but I'd also be interested in any anecdotal reports.

I've just moved to Little Rock, Arkansas but my tastes have been corrupted by the East Coast. Help me find businesses that cater to such predilections. I have been spoiled by living in places with Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, fancy spas, and awesome ethnic food. Can someone with Little Rock experience help me find the following:
-A butcher shop that sells a wide variety of meats (duck, venison, etc.)
-A imported cheese shop
-A vendor of organic food (something with more selection than the Kroger on Polk)
-A salon that does trendy modern haircuts/waxing
-Tasty ethnic restaurants for those Thai/Indian/sushi/etc. cravings. I love BBQ, but I'm looking for variety.

Fun things in the mid-south

I'm taking a road trip to the south this weekend. What are some can't miss places -- for eating, shopping, experiencing, or simply tons of fun -- in and around Nashville, Memphis, or Little Rock? Any restaurants, museums, record stores, world's biggest shoe, or other such must-see attraction is welcomed. My friends and I are fairly poor, so the less expensive the better. Most of our time will be spent in Memphis, and while this recent thread is helpful, it dealt mostly with live music. Also, if by chance anyone knows any hot spots around Cairo, Illinois or Terre Haute, Indiana, those are certainly welcomed as well. Thank you in advance!
