I'm nearing completion of a book of very short stories that riff in various ways on the 'joke' form. The pieces are 1-2 pages. I want to publish this book. I'm not sure the best way.

For a project I'm currently working on as part of my graduation in Graphic Design, I wanted to compile something like an atlas of fictional cities. These may be from books, legends, stories, video games, advertisements, comics, really whatever... Even "real" cities but alternate versions, imagined or in some way deviate from their real counterpart are valid.

I've been asked to put together a longish reading list for a BA Art/Literature module, and I'd love some ideas for texts outside my current knowledge. The list should cover a series of genres and contexts, with writing from, and about, the history and theory of art, journalism, academia, design, architecture and film. Writing on design and architecture are particularly outside my knowledge. What innovative and critically significant writings can you recommend across any of these subject areas?

Akashic Books Noir Series. Which are your favorites?
Each book is an anthology of original short stories. It looks like they've published over fifty volumes. I find they differ greatly in style and overall quality of writing. It makes sense... each anthology has its own editor.
I'd like to read the volumes that have the best quality writing, and are the most fun. Here's what I've read so far, in most favored order:

I'm looking for more fiction that features detailed or frequent mentions of food. For example Iris Murdoch's The Sea, the Sea with its talk of "fresh hot buttered toast, with or without the addition of bloater paste". Bonus points if they're set in the UK, but I'd love any suggestions!

I need some new audiobooks! I'm a screen printer and find that listening to an audiobook helps me to focus and get more done during the day and consequently, I get through 3-4 books a week. I'll listen to just about anything (science fiction, biographies, western, you name it), as long as it's engaging but doesn't require too much concentration. I've listed my favorites below. Tell me what you've enjoyed listening to and what I've been missing!

I'm working with an English teacher that has a speculative fiction class for seniors in high school. He’s looking for a book (possibly something he would use as a supplement in class but also for his own personal reading) on the history of science fiction literature. He’s looking for something that is a retrospective and contains some literary criticism (optional). It can be a textbook but doesn’t necessarily need to be. There seems to be quite a few on Amazon but if I could get it narrowed down that would be great.

All great libraries have books in them, but how many great books have libraries in them? I just finished reading "Big Machine" by Victor Lavalle, and am currently reading "Kafka on the Shore" by Haruki Murakami
(yes, finally!), and it's purely coincidental, but they both happen to feature libraries prominently. So now I'd like to know what other really good novels feature libraries in a significant way.

I'd like to focus my next year or two of reading on award-nominated literary fiction. I'm aware of the Man Booker Prize and the National Book Awards. These two lists together could easily more than fill up that year or two, but what other prestigious national or international literary awards/prizes have a short list of nominated works?

Summer Reading-Filter,
bis: what contemporary fiction or non-fiction can I get for our week in the sun that will be decidedly erotic, pornographic even, but still have some literary merit? My husband thinks Dan Brown is really enjoyable whereas I cringe at that kind of writing - my preferences go towards Booker Prize-type stuff. Separate recs for each of us, I expect.
