Persistant Vista rootkit infection - virus scanners aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Tracking down and killing a virus - my virus scanner (Avast) is telling me scvhost.exe keeps trying to open malicious URLs. It also tells me I have a rootkit in the MBR. It doesn't seem capable of fixing either of these problems. What can I do? Windows Vista. [more inside]

In Linux, what's the simplest way to take a podcast RSS file as input, and output a file containing just the URLs of all the MP3s enclosed in the RSS file? Difficulty: the method must only Bash + GNU tools, Python or Perl, with no non-standard add-on libraries or dependencies required.

I was just about to sign up to a quite nice looking hosting deal with 1and1, when I discovered it's available to US and Canadian Residents Only. This, of course, completely pissed me off.
