Going to a wedding where I will make a humorous speech. The groom just got out of basic training for the reserves, so I've been brainstorming a on the theme of "he used to say [civilian speak], now he says [military speak]." Below is what I have so far (just the shorthand.) Any contributions would be most appreciated!
Wedding ring => Chain of Command
Orgasm=>Honorable Discharge
"That time of the month"=>Defcon 3
Blocked Shot (basketball)=>Court Martial
Wedding Day=>D Day
?=>WMD
Urination=>Operation Golden Flow
?=>Flak Jacket
"Yes Dear"=>Roger
?=>AWOL
?=>Going Below Decks
SEX=>Sierra Echo X-ray

Anyone work in the wild and wooly world of Public Relations? I'm curious about industry-specific lingo and utterances. What do people in the public relations industry call it when a Press Release/Video News Release, etc. gets picked up in the media just as they'd hoped? Is it a success? A hit? A what? What are the commonly used terms of success or failure? Are there differences between terms used in public and the ones used near the water cooler? Are there any specific pieces of vocabulary, and what do they mean? Any PR lingo is much appreciated....

VOIP Filter:
I would like feedback regarding people's experience with VOIP. Vonage and Lingo, and any others. Bonus points for feedback regarding faxing over VOIP. Even more bonus points for VOIP over a Verizon DSL line in the New York City area. Also, is VOIP legal in the EU?
