I'm looking for good sources of creative-commons licensed, edgy rock instrumental music. A really good example of this is www.saviumsaliva.com. The music there just seems to work for the podcast that I'm working on. I've tried Jamendo, and one other "search engine" for creative commons licensed music, but slow going. I just received a check from Pump Audio. I submitted my music to them a while back and, apparently, one of my tracks was used in a TV show. Woo-hoo! However, I can't find any information on the show it was used in. The information on the statement is as follows: Usage Description: Yearbook Episode 1998 Air Date: 6/11/2006 Ntwk/Pro: ABC I've Googled, to no avail. This question got me thinking... Why is it that there are video and game rental outlets (Blockbu$ter, Hollywood, etc) but not CD rental outlets here in the US? Anyone know anything about the license agreements video rental outlets sign and in turn what license agreements one accepts when they purchase a CD from a store? Why wouldn't I be able to rent out my CDs? You'd think in this day of iPods, CDRs and such large hard drives, this would be a killer busines to get into.
