I'm trying to get an idea of WHICH areas of Creative Commons I can draw from on Flickr. I work for a state doing something that, while noncommercial, does support business in a way. I want to use creative commons pix for a website we're putting up. So attribution, I get. That's easy. The others I'm not sure about - as a government office are we, by dint of our setup, considered non-commercial? And the non-deriviative works...does that mean we can't even crop it? And I completely don't understand "share alike" at all. Does that mean if we use THOSE photos we have to let anyone have our website template and content (which would be our only original work) for free with complete unrestricted use?

I took an internship without realizing it required me to drive. The folks who interviewed and hired me assumed I knew how, only after I'd moved across the country and started work did they discover I didn't. My position won't require me to drive for the next couple of months, and my supervisor is confident I can get a license before then (she is also willing to give me lessons). I'm a little skeptical - is it reasonable to think I can learn to drive and get a license in this span of time?

Car buying out of state:
I have a NJ license, am staying with my parents for a while in NH, but my job will be in MA and I intend to also live there eventually.
I need to buy a car to commute to work ASAP. I haven't had a car in 4 years. What is the best way to proceed in this situation, i.e., should I get a NH license right now, buy the car in MA with my NJ license, no idea. Will the dealer provide temporary tags and insurance, if so, for how long?
I changed my address with the post office but I still own an apartment in NJ and I don't want to start paying rent ( and moving to MA) until that sells, which might take over a month.

I have been driving for two years under permit. I took the written test. I just now have to pass the driving test. I am just as good as my friends who now have driver's license, except I didn't take the test. I am eighteen. Recently, my grandparents told me to get out of their lives, so I have no access to their car. But since I am in LA, it would be convenient if I can get a driver's license and rent a car. I can't drive unless I have a car. But then I can't get my driver's license without a car.
I barely have money, so I am on a tight budget. I can't rent a car because I need a driver's license. I also need someone over 21 to watch over me when I drive, but there were no close adults in my life except my grandparents.
How the hell do I go about this? Most of my friends don't have cars either, and the ones that do... I am not close enough to borrow their cars. I don't want to overwhelm them with my shitty family situation either.
Only if I had a car. I am in Los Angeles.

I just got back from a 500 mile road trip on the New York Thruway. Spotted three cars with Hawaiian license plates. I have never seen
one before. Obviously, they didn't drive to the mainland. Two were older cars, mid-ninety's econoboxes, one a big SUV. About how much would it cost to ship a car from the islands, or did they just bring their plates and buy a car locally?

I was recently pulled over for having expired tags. The police officer gave me a fix it ticket for the tags, but he also gave me a ticket to schedule a court date for a misdemeanor charge of driving in California with an out-of-state drivers license.
I looked up the legalities, and the California DMV does state that you need to get a new drivers license after 10 days of being in the state of California. I have been driving with my Idaho license here for over a year.
I have scheduled the court date and now I am worried. Is there anything I can do to get out of this? What would be my best course of action?
