How can I make myself more competive as an applicant in the Library profession?

I am about to enter my Master of Library & Information Science and I am curious to know which areas are of most value when it comes to employment in Library & Information Sciences? Which ones will make me more competitive in the current (Canadian) job market? [more inside]
