Are there any places offering surfing lessons around Maryland in April? I just booked a trip to Hawaii, and would love to take a lesson or two before I head out there.

For a 15- or 20-person group of people with no experience in surfing: lessons (in New York) at Long Beach or Far Rockaway Beach? Also, which is more fun to be at and has more stuff to see around it? Finally, any recommendations for surf lesson companies?

I would like to take a paddle surfing lesson in the LA area in a couple weeks - any recommendations for where to rent a board and get a lesson (I am a fairly new surfer - but long-time board sport person (skateboarding, snowboarding).
