I'm heading to Denver this weekend, and I'm planning to enjoy Colorado's fine range of entirely-goddamn-legal-after-I've-been-fighting-for-it-since-the-1990s marijuana! Which shop(s) should I visit? Which strains should I try? Weed-friendly hotels? [more inside]
What happens to people locked up for weed in a post legalization state? Amendment 64 in Colorado and Initiative 502 in Washington state both seem to have a decent possibility of passing, and would make the posession and consumption of marijuana legal for adults. What would happent to people jailed in either state for possession or distribution of marijuana if either of these pass? [more inside]
How exactly would marijuana be decriminalized in the US? Who would effect its removal from Schedule 1? Is that something Obama could do? [more inside]
Arguments Against Marijuana. Why not smoke pot? [more inside]
Can running a NORML chapter damage my career? [more inside]
Should I be concerned about my emails and letters to my US Senate and House representatives ? I have written to my Maryland federal representatives expressing my opinion on the War on Drugs and support for legalization (marijuana) and decriminilzation (all other "illegal" drugs). I have listed my address as to not be a crackpot when I sent the email. With this issue spiraling out of control - how concerned should I be that I am now going to be on some list somewhere for thinking for myself? I know I am asking this after sending but I was just curious to see what everyone else thought.
MaryJaneFilter: I'm looking for audio clips (mp3, wav, whatever) relating specifically to the drug prohibition / war on drugs debate in the US. [more inside]
when Prohibition ended in the USA, did crime (both organised crime and general crime) increase or decrease? Did levels of alcholism increase? Did alcohol become cheaper? Are there lessons to be learned about the potential effects of legalising drugs? [MI] [more inside]
